Vodafone Roaming problems in Spain
I am not sure whether this is the right sort of thing to be posting here so if its not I appologise in advance.
I have recently found that whilst using my UK Vodafone mobile in Spain I have been unable to access the Roaming network via Movistar (Telefonica). This shouldnt have been a big problem because as I was Roaming I should be able to use almost any local network such as Vodafone ES or Orange ES but unfortunately the only network with any signal near my house in Spain is Movistar and this has worked fine for five years or so. I have been in touch with Vodafone for some two weeks and have been assured that Telefonica are one of their Roaming partners and that there must be a technical problem. However, yesterday one of their technical guys informed me that whilst Telefonica are still one of their Roaming Partners they have a commercial dispute and Telefonica have barred all roaming calls from Vodafone Ltd. I dont quite see how you can have a partnership with someone who refuses to provide services to you but that is another matter.
I am posting this for two reasons, one to warn anyone using a UK Vodafone mobile that they might have connection problems in Spain and also to ask if anyone has any ideas how I might 'encourage' Vodafone to resolve their dispute so that they can provide the full roaming service they advertise.

I don't think there's any way you can encourage Voda to sort this out.
It will be a corporate issue at a level way above anything you can get to through customer services. Its going to be a dispute about revenue share and roaming costs, no way you're going to have any sway on matters like that. . .0 -

Thats pretty much my own view unless I can find some way of getting the issue aired at a national level, in the press or on TV. If I could do that they then feel the need to sort it out but probably not. Although it is a slightly tenuous point they do contractually offer roaming to their customers and do state that Movistar is one of their partners so there might be some slight embarrassment should it come to light that they were in dispute, but again probably not:D0 -
Of course it could all be down to Movista?
You don't know what the depute is. The agreement may have come to an end and as a tactic Movistar could tripped their charges...0
