Hang on, the thread is over a year old

What does it matter that it's over a year old?

I was Googling the rollback con and this thread came up. My reply to this thread is very relevant. :)

    ***BREAKING NEWS***

Supermarkets in "Reduce prices for a promotion and then put them back up again" shocker...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Yes but it my case it went up FOR the promotion.

It was £3.11 on a white SEL and now it is £3.48 on a yellow SEL with a rollback sign next to it.

Meepster's comment is relevant to the OP. Not relevant to LeeUK's subsequent comment.

Basically, LeeUK, you've hit on the problem that you can't take for granted what the supermarkets tell you.
Unfortunately these organisations are very clever, and the chances are that they are doing all of this within the rules.

The only way to win is to know what is good value before you start. Then if it's good value today buy it, if it's not then don't.
