matalan outlet in newport..bargins?

Well...

Point 1, you don't go to an Outlet Store for the pleasant shopping experience! And actually, as a frequent bargain hunter, this one compares quite well.

I recently lost 90% of my wardrobe, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to check out this store and post my results. I've just returned from a 90 minute shopping trip to the Matalan Outlet at Newport and bought:

1) Pair of brown leather court shoes - £2.50
2) Knee-length patterned wrap dress - £1.00
3) Purple moleskin jacket - £2.00
4) Wide leg suit trousers with satin tie - £3.00
5) V-neck long sleeve top - £2.00
6) Cream a-symmetrical 3/4 shirt - £2.00
7) Belted jacket - £4.50
8) White L/S frilly shirt - £3.00
9) Flared black shirt dress with sash - £5.00
10) Black velvet knee-length evening dress - £1.00
11) Brown knee-length skirt - £3.00

TOTAL: £29.00

Now, I am quite fussy - there were many more items at £1 or 50p but they weren't to my taste. I nearly bought a pink and grey work skirt for 50p, for example. And I found a pair of purple suede wedge knee-length boots for £1.50 but they were unfortunately too small.

So, if you don't mind rooting around and trying on jackets etc in public, well recommended!!! Especially if you need to shop for the whole family - £29 would be a reasonable price for just one of the items in the above list, and I've come home with 11 :-)

it is like a junk shop but find you can go and strike lucky and get loads of bargains othertimes theres nothing just depends what end of lines etc they have in. I went there once when they were also offering 75% off everything on top of usual bargain prices. I had 2 trolleys FULL for about £35...I have never had a bargain like that. I sold alot of it on at bootsales for 2 or 3 times the cost. Bargain!

I went to the Matalan oulet yesterday and did really well........lots of nice wintry clothes for this lovely weather we are having.:j
The store is in the spytty road retail park, but not where the main shops are, it is sort of behind those just past the peugeot garage.
