Does anyone know who is behind play.com or how I can find out?
We returned a smashed tv stand a month ago (delivered so), can prove it was delivered via royal mail but they won't even confirm if it has been received in their warehouse or not, in fact they won't even discuss it with us. We are down the cost of the stand and what it cost us to send back and getting nowhere fast. This is the second time play have messed up a refund, last time was a cheap dvd so we didn't worry so much. My dad had an undelivered item in December and is having similar problems with getting his money back.
We are clearly entitled to refunds legally but what can we do if they won't even speak to us. I therefore want to track down the company behind them so that I can write direct as there's little point quoting the DSR at the call centre numpties on the phone. Unless anyone has alternative suggestions?
Needless to say we are boycotting them and telling all our friends!

I sent something back just before christmas and received the refund around the 10th Jan. If you can see they've received it then you'll get your refund eventually!0

Did you return it because it was faulty or did you specifically cancel under the terms of the DSRs. When exactly did you do this?0

I believe Play.com is based outside of the UK (in Jersey), so I'm not sure where this leaves you in terms of claiming under the DSR or taking them to court. I can't seem to find their postal address on their website anywhere either. Will the people in the call centre not give you a postal address if you ask?
I have to say, I've never had any real problems with Play0 -
Why don't you ring them on 0845 800 1020 and calmly ask them for on update on your refund.
Edit: the only address I could find is a the top of their T&Cs -- The owner of this web site is Play Limited whose address is Play.com, PO Box 192, Jersey, JE4 8RP (‘Play.com’/‘we’ /‘us’/‘our’). Registration number 86716.

We have rung them 3 times. We sent it back on 2nd January because it was smashed up. The computer says no...it's not showing the item as received back in their warehouse despite royal mail showing it as delivered and us providing a tracking number. The excuse is they are busy. They haven't even refunded our postage yet despite sending a copy of the receipt. They said last night after a very long and painful call that they simply could not discuss it until the warehouse showed it as received back. How long will that take though, it doesn't take 4 weeks for a parcel even with royal mail.0

I have been having trouble with play.com for the first time. The problem is that they are saying that they dispatched an item on the 26th of October 2010 and when I phoned them on the 1st of November they said to wait 3-5 days for delivery and they are convinced that Royal Mail do not deliver on a Saturday. So I waited untill the post came the next day and still no item so I phoned them again but still no resolution. So if nyone knows who is the owner or highest person in the play.com company I can speak to please please reply thanks0

Jersey have nearr identical versions of DSR's and SOGA so this isnt so much an issue.
You just quote DSL 2007 rather than CPR/DSR 2000

You may want to look at this thread :

in which there is a discussion as to whether Play.com have new owners. If so, they seem to have upset quite a few people .....0
