I went to Pontins in Prestatyn North Wales a couple of years ago with the Sun vouchers & the accommodation was very basic & disgusting.
The only good thing I could say about it was the entertainment in the evening, was very good!
In saying that I wouldn't go again!0 -

I went to Pontins at Brean on a free holiday. They give them away each year and you just ring up and get one.
Needed to be free, the place was minging and we came home after one night. Mushrooms growing on the floor, mould on the walls, bed was dreadful....
Loads of threads on here for the Pro Pontins (good value crew) and the Never Again (would not go, even if it was free crew).I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
I play in a brass band that has a competition at pontins prestatyn every year. It is old and very tired. If you want a shower dont book the basic chalets, but middle of the road does us. The expensive ones are nicer but are furthest away from the amenities, so ok if you dont mind walking.0

We were at Pontins last weekend. We paid £120 for 3 nights in a Club chalet. We left a day early and would have gone home but we felt sorry for the kids and checked into a premier inn (heaven). Our main gripe was with the fact that there was no bed for the adults, they expect you to sleep on a 4 foot sofa bed with a 3 inch mattress. I think it was just about clean enough although we didn't fancy using the shower and wouldn't walk around in bare feet ( glad I haven't got a toddler) We arrived very late on friday and immediately complained about the bed ( I wanted a refund but had to settle for another mattress from the chalet next door to lay over ours). The TV is in the same tiny room as the sofa bed and there are only hard plastic chairs to sit on so we never bothered watching it. We were going to leave the next day but were curious to see what the entertainment was like as we'd heard it was really good. We arrived at the clubhouse a 7pm but it was bingo so we had to wait til 8.15 for the 1 man blue coat amateurish rubbish, I felt sorry for everyone sitting there with there miserable faces while the kids are constantly wanting hotdogs, popcorn and glowsticks. There's even a gift shop in the club!
The prices for food are a rip off, £7.20 for scampi and chips £6.50 for breakfast, we couldn't afford that and instead drove 15 miles to the nearest Mcdonalds.
Strange, they expect you to live in scumbag accomodation and yet think you can spend as if you're loaded.
I wasn't expecting anything grand and only intended using it as a base, I thought I could 'rough it' but I couldn't - It felt like a prison. YUK!0
