How soon is too soon?

I am planning mine with only 6 months - and a lot of people are aghast when I say I'm getting married in July and don't have this or that booked yet. I think everyone expects you to do things a year or so in advance these days!

Another one here! I am getting married in 2012 too! Hopefully a winter wedding as OH is not good in the warm.. he tends to be a bit shiny!

Not sure where or when and was wondering when I should book all these things. Maybe have a Friday wedding to keep guests/costs down or run away! Who knows? :think: But 12/12/12 looks likely (mid-week). We got together on 06/06/06 and engaged 09/09/09 so it makes sense!

If nothing else I know what type of dress I want.

I don't mind 6/6/6, although it might be bad knews for him... _pale_ I only know them because it was the day I was promoted at the TA and it was the end of our camp in Gibraltar when we fell in love. :j

I had to say yes on 09/09/09 as he was leaving for Afghanistan!

12/12/12 fits in as it is when the sharesave scheme at work finishes (the June), which we both have put into, so we will have a nice amount of cash for wedding things! :beer: So that's it all done then. No babies on 15/15/15!!!

Can i just say to the OP aswell, its never too soon to start planning. We started planning in Sept when we got engaged and a lot of the venues we looked at already had booking for the dates we wanted and even some for 2012!

I understood that Pickledpink! I see you have 18 months to plan yours. May I ask what you have done so far? It seems so much gets planned in advance, but then so quickly!

I've booked the venue and the minister for the chapel, the photographer (the one we originally wanted was already booked for our date so got on with this asap) and ive chosen and paid a deposit for my dress. My dress was the first thing i did haha

I'm just starting to organise my invites now. We're going to be making them ourselves so i want to get a headstart on it. I know its going to take us ages to do...

We're also in the process of buying a house which is going to take up a lot of my time in the next couple of months, so it'll be 12 months to go before i know it!
