i sent a letter to barclays last wk, regarding mis sold ppi
had this letter today ,first of all there are some questions im not sure how to answer.
1/ what is the reason for your complaint?
2/can you recall wht information you were told during the sale which will help us investigate further?
3/are there any other facts why you should not have taken out the cover?
4/if the cover was cancelled some time ago ,why have you only recently brought this to our attension?
answer to question 1-
• This is due to the fact that I was not given the correct information when the policy was sold to me, as
• Your salesperson was very pushy in selling me the policy so that I felt I could not say no.
• Your salesperson did not give me full information on what the policy would and would not cover.
• and the policy was not sold in my best interests.
not sure how to answer the other 3 questions can you please help,
i think ppi was cancelled as i got into arrears and due to the current position they cancelled it. does that make any difference for me making this claim .
hoping to hear from you soon ,thanks sue

Hi Sue
These questionnaires seem to be procedure for some of the banks now.
What we suggest is to write to the best of your knowledge, and anything you cannot recall, write (please refer to my letter you received)
And (Please refer to my account from when you sold me the loan), they still have to give you a decision by 8 weeks in full.
In regards of arrears, if successful they may refund the amount towards the arrears and anything remaining directly to you by cheque, but all banks vary.
Wishing you luck Sue, please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi Sue,
You don't have to answer them by ref to questions: 1-4 -but you can sum up your answers as one answer:-
Things to mention are that you only became aware of misselling of PPI recently due to coverage in the press/media etc.
You cancelled because you wanted to reduce your payments as the cost of the overall monthly payments was too high .
Reasons for mis-selling include - that they didn't offer you the option to pay for PPI separately and included the PPI by adding to your loan and charging interest over the loan period which makes the monthly payment very expensive overall!
You were not informed that you could buy elsewhere and as you say they didn't provide adequate information for you to decide that the policy was right for you etc.
(Sue above are some suggestions and if they apply by all means use them and if you include all of the reasons after researching on here and on the internet and put them in your letter back you won't go wrong! because you need to make them aware that you mean business and want your money back!!)
See what their response is and if they disagree then writeback and mention that you would like them to reconsider and would like to take your case to the FOS as you believe that the PPI was missold for the reasons mentioned)
Goodluck and remember that they will try their best to fob you off but if you have all of the facts as to why it was missold you will win ,they may return some of the money up to the point it was cancelled as an option.
Currently I am having fun with my responses to another company because I state all the reasons for misselling and when I mention the FOS I soon get a positive response! Only Tesco is the one that stands out like a soar thumb because when they reply all they say is that they need more time to investigate and they don't care if you take your case to the FOS and I guess the reason is that they haven't bothered employing enough staff (or any!!) to deal with this so all that happens is that they send a standard reply back! Also they know that they will have to fork out the refunds anyway as their sales process was rubbish! so they want to delay the payout as long as possible!0 -
hi i have got a real problem it all started when i put in a claim for my ppi from welcome but am in a bit of a situation now and really angry i took out a loan from welcome for 1500 it was paid off but during the loan i became unemployed so i missed a payment and they sent me 5 letters all costing 150 pounds each so i questioned this and asked to verify how they can charge this amount for a letter i got no replys back from them so when the loan was due to finish they wanted 800 pounds extra i asked again where this amount had come from and unless they could verify the amount i was not going to pay it never heard any more about it untill i put a claim in for the ppi then on friday of last wk i had a code on my wage slip with 10 coming out of my wages i have had no letters to say anything of the kind about going to court but also it is now upto £2020 any ideas or help i can do to stop this as im really angery and distress about the issue0

hi it sounds like they've some how obtained a charge against your salary, but you should have been informed about the County Court proceedings - have you moved house recently ?? If so the court will have deemed to have served you even if the letters come back as 'gone away'. I'd suggest you make an appointment with the Citizens Advice Bureau to see if they could help - you could also ask your employer for a copy of the order and then contact the county court who issued it - you can apply to have it revokedannoyed_consumer wrote: »hi i have got a real problem it all started when i put in a claim for my ppi from welcome but am in a bit of a situation now and really angry i took out a loan from welcome for 1500 it was paid off but during the loan i became unemployed so i missed a payment and they sent me 5 letters all costing 150 pounds each so i questioned this and asked to verify how they can charge this amount for a letter i got no replys back from them so when the loan was due to finish they wanted 800 pounds extra i asked again where this amount had come from and unless they could verify the amount i was not going to pay it never heard any more about it untill i put a claim in for the ppi then on friday of last wk i had a code on my wage slip with 10 coming out of my wages i have had no letters to say anything of the kind about going to court but also it is now upto £2020 any ideas or help i can do to stop this as im really angery and distress about the issue0 -

Hi Sue and well done.
Depending if your happy with the amount and the difference of would it would have been, did they uphold in your favour or an offer?
Normally if upheld they should aim to put you back in the position as if PPI was not taken, plus interest, and 8% interest of what a court would award for being deprived of your money.
And if this was not the final response and you are not happy with the outcome you can always ask them to reconsider, it is up to you of course what you want to do here though.
If this was the final decision, then you do have the option of taking it to the FOS, but please be aware they can take some time before they deal with your complaint.
You can wait for other opinions on this if you want to but well done to you anyway.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

after filling in the questionaire, i herd nothing so i sent them ,letter before action letter and got this offer today ,should i accept ?0

The figures look ok but I am no expert here. If you are happy with it then I would accept. If you go to the FOS they are very busy and it could take up to 2 years. Perhaps mmoney in the bank account is more helpful at the moment, it is up to you.
Good luck and well done anyway:mad:0
