Iphone-dead pixels?

Hoping you can help.:)

My OH has had an iphone for over a year now which he bought second hand off a mate.

Yesterday, he noticed a thin line of 'dead pixels' about 1cm long running from the egde of the screen. Today it is running across the whole of the screen.

Is it actually possible to get dead pixels on an iphone? I've called them that because that's what they look like but don't know if that is what the problem is!:o

Is there any way to fix this?

Many thanks in advance.:D

Anyway LCD can suffer from dead pixels.

The text for dead pixels is usually if they are always the same colour, i.e. during bootup, shutdown, running any application like games. if they never change, they are dead.

I had 5 red dots on my 6600 a few years ago, and have a 1cm line on my laptop atm, going to get dell to replace my screen.

Anyway, what you need to do is goto a local apple shop and as for it to be repaired, ill stagger a guess its out of warrentry so maybe a £50 a charge. Try this one first - http://www.apple.com/uk/buy/locator/

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies

Many thanks for confirming my suspicions! Nice to know I DO know what I'm talking about sometimes!:o

We have an Apple store in town so shouldn't be a problem getting it fixed, but he's looking for an excuse to get a new phone anyway(he thinks the iphone is rubbish!)so he'd probably rather put the money for a repair towards a new handset instead.
  • as the advert says, theres an app for that.

i had about 5 dead pixels on my iphone, tried this app and it got rid of most of them. worth a try before you take it to the apple store.

not sure about posting links, but if you google search dead pixels iPhone, its the first link.

    hope this helps.
