Did you have it from new? If so, it should be covered under manufacturers warranty for at least 12 months, and Orange should do something about it.

Orange should send it away for repair. With a 12 month warrentry, Orange are obliged to do this under sale of goods act.

  • Just check you weren't given complementary insurance as we have been in contract for 10 months and they accepted they had offered it yet not tagged it on to account.

thanks for the replies, went into an orange shop in my local town this morning and there wasnt much they could do (had already gone ahead over phone with replacement) but to have a word with the nokia repair centre on the next street - did this and they were very helpful. Went back to Orange and asked to cancel replacement phone - they said would have to ring up - they let me use their phone to ring as didnt have a phone. Got the fee etc cancelled - any problems and I have names and notes on account, so when courier comes tonight I have to reject delivery.

So my phone is now in at the Nokia repair centre under warranty - I wasnt told this option on the phone!
