If you look at my earlier post ...

I fitted one of these 3 years ago, when I renovated my house. Despite living in a hard water area, I have ALMOST NO limescale build up.

Compare this to my old house, in the same hard water area, and I had a constant build up of limescale.

I bought a product, and it appears to do what it is meant to.

So, hmmm, how does that make me stupid and gullible ?
  • They are pure snake oil, period.
They simply don't work and are based on pseudo-science, appealing to the ignorant and those who used to sit up the back of the class in the science lessons, picking their nose and leering at the girls/boys (delete as appropriate).

OMG it's the old old fart from my science class.

There are a load of us elsewhere sitting, popcorn and pokey stick in hand, enjoying the entertainment

Now, if you don't mind, it's time to pop down to the snake farm - I might have some oil for sale later

If you've nowt more useful to contribute, then try sitting quietly and eat your sweets, there's a good lad.

There is no scientific evidenxce that they do work, there are a number of tests you can find which disprove their efficacy. Beware the one which claims to work (Bath uni IIRC) where the manufacturers claim is notr what was actually being tested

There is a reasonably balanced discussion about magnetic water softeners at http://www.chem1.com/CQ/magscams.html. You pays your money etc...
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
