Skint, your quickly turning into an orifice of knowledge here.

My point is that people come here for unbiased advice, much of your advice is good there is no doubt . However it is not good if it seeks to coceal that you work for an IVA selling company and that ALL of the information dos'nt seem to come forth untill some else stirs things up1. You ARE the wolf in sheep's clothing 2,mostly advocating IVAs as the best solution 3and IVA companies paragons of free good advice. I wish to question that, in order that people who do come by understand that they should fully understand that IVAs are a flowery phrase for bankruptcy. If they understand that and think that an IVA is the best option then well and good. But I think you gloss over the detail too hurredly4. Why no mention of Admin orders? a great scheme for many people with no commercial interest whatsoever. D'you maybe it's just me but I've NEVER talked to anyone where an IP has recommeded that. Strange huh? However carry on doing your job for your employer , but don't again try to pretend other wise5

I'll just make this clear one last time. I have never concealed my background in insolvency. I won't tell you who my employer is because I do not post on their behalf, I post in my own time at all hours of the day.

I do not mostly advocate IVAs but if someone comes on saying that they are two years into an IVA what use is it going to be for me to start finding out if an IVA suits them... generally the answers involve telling people how to stick up for themselves when it comes to dealing with their IP.

I am certainly no wolf in sheep's clothing. If you wish to level something true at me then by all means do so, but don't throw dirt at my online name - it simply shows you up for the braindead knuckle dragging neanderthal you are.
Does it hurt that we've already dissected most of your other posts to find that what you were saying was at worst mis-leading or at best mis-informed?

You expressed at least 5 lies about me in this one post - or rather a variation on the same lie five times - I don't expect it to happen again!

Bertty, I've no interest in "selling" you an IVA - i merely asked if you signed one because it would certainly explain where a bottom feeding company like the one your mentioned found your details for free and contacted you top tell you you had been mis-sold an IVA.

The company in question rang you out of the blue, with no prior knowledge to your case and asserted that you had been mis-sold an IVA (the only thing they knew about you at the time was that you had entered an IVA) - you can tell me I'm wrong if you like but that's how they got in contact with all the other people they tried to... ahem... "help"... on this forum!

You can do as you like. I don't know if an IVA was your best option or not, I do doubt it was mis-sold. Regardless, you're unhappy with it now and that's your prerogative. There are professional companies who would help you fill out your BR papers for free or you could ask for advice on the BR Board on here - they love BR and they love to help... yes it might be difficult or complicated but I dont think anyone over on the other board would think it was worth £1,000 (and i'd guess yo'ure probably paying more)

    Good for you Charco

Lets get some truth out there, insolvency practitioners are in business to make money (lots of it) and they don't seem to mind who they trample on to get there.
It's a bout time Martyn Lewis stopped this disgraceful use of his web site, insolvency practitioners using the forum to peddle their products, which are often completely wrong for their victim (me). When is someone like the office of fair trading going to put the whole lot of them under the microscope?

To answer you question about you being abusive the whole tone of your post (post 22) was quite aggressive and when you start saying things like "begger off back to the bankruptsy board" it just left me feeling a bit like you are not really showing the other readers much respect.

Another thing I don't understand is why you always make your posts in red? It's a bit in your face.

Can I just put my hand up - if you have a look at the thread I started (think I called it "this board" or something similar!) those paragraphs are quoted from what i put ( i didnt expect it to be quoted!!!) - and the sentiment was for the people who are on here purely to troll and slag off IVAs, which rightly or wrongly entered into, have helped a lot of the posters in this Board. It was no way directed at the majority of the posters in here, just the people who are in here purely to say that IVAs are bad !! - (nor am I an IP - im nowhere near clever enough for that - Im a veterinary nurse!!!!)

There are a lot of people on here who have an IVA for the reason I do - I could (and a lot of people would say should!) have gone bankrupt, I have no house, and no great amount of assets, nor would it have affected my old job or my present one. What I do want to do though, is pay off my creditors as much as I possibly can - Its not entirely their fault that I got out of control, and by doing an IVA I feel like I am doing the best I can to pay them back.I was at rock bottom when I took my IVA out, I had no idea what I was doing, filled in a form online, then had a call straight back. It was set up within 2 months, and they have been nothing but fab all the way through.(though there are a lot of people who arent happy with my company which just goes to prove that it doesnt always go right !!!)

I feel really sorry for all the people who have failed their IVA for whatever reason and have to go through the stress of sorting it all out again, but it appears to be like everything in life - the people who are happy arent half as vocal as the ones that arent and I dont think that gives a correct view of the situation.

Roll on September (when mine finishes!) is all I can say !!!! :)

p.s. hes right about the red though choochoo - its a bit blinding !!!! ;)

Hi everyone, just popping over from the bankruptcy board where i usually to throw my two pence worth in.

I have worked in bankruptcy and so have seen the consequences of failed IVA's, some because of bad initial advice, some because of genuine circumstances.

1 Good experience or 1 bad experience which is what most people see if they are handling there own debts does not make a consensus, which ever side it is on.

The truth of the matter is that IVA's in themselves are not inherently the wrong choice. they are just one of the options available.

IVA companies, bankruptcy help companies, debt management companies are mostly all profit making companies and so have an interest in your money.

The golden rules are this - Get free impartial advice - Try the CAB or national debtline.
Make sure you understand how the solution you chose works, what you will need to pay and how that might change in the future (as well as the other consequences.
    IT IS YOUR DECISION
That means that if it goes wrong it is you that made the wrong choice, dont try and blame the person providing the service (thats like buying cheap icecream and complaining it doesnt taste nice)
Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.
