Can I cancel remaining 8 months?

Hi

Hope someone here can help as am at point of bursting with frustration!!

Have 2 phones on business contract with Orange, have no problem with them in terms of tariffs etc however when I renewed my contract I asked for a phone that had email, wifi & wilan features and was advised that the blackberry bold 9000 was the only handset that would incorporate all of these requirements email has never worked and no wilan either. So the phones arrived, hubs had a nokia 5800 music phone. Having been told our previous signal faults were handset issues we gave the new handsets a bash and guess what? The same problem no signal inside our business premises or our home address now fair do's if we go out into the yard at work phones improve to around 50% but why should I as receptionist have to leg it outside every time the phone rings? So we complained-just on end of 2 weeks, were told dodgy phone so changed the phone. we were then advised having wifi switched on would help-rubbish made no difference at all!As phone still useless and out of 14 days I chucked phone in draw and continued with 02 phone for time being.

Now 02 finished and I had to get phone out and ring orange diagnostic run, new phone received & I try to set up email and as before email & wilan not working so rang orange and went through usual rants of how very unhappy I am and how rubbish product is and eventually get through to blackberry tech reason blurry blackberry features don't work is cos there has never been a blackberry package on blurry account grrrr! Very mad at which point, so Mr Tech chucks me back through to customer services who I politely yet forcefully told my contract was going to be cancelled due to being miss sold in the first place and as signal problems were still there would not accept credit or other contract retaining offers so young chappy says will ring me back. Stoopid orange signal proved its own point answer phone message left ha ha!! Best offer on the table will upgrade me early can have whatever phone I want free in 18 month contract. Erm the signal problem???? Ah yes it is a bit "patchy" in that area, which I already know & boost from testing lasted 2 mins. Humpf! So have faxed orange and told them will not pay them anymore and am cancelling direct debit as miss sold and not fit for purpose intended as can never use the blurry things am not convinced this will work but think there is a glimmer of hope as upgrade shows they have something wrong right???

Any further ideas greatly appreciated!!

Don't cancel your direct debit - no matter how much in the right you may believe you are, this would result in defaults on your credit record and potentially debt collection agencies chasing you. Have you put your concerns in writing? If not, it could be worth considering and send recorded delivery to their head office, as you will then get a formal response? I am sure I have read on here about an email to the Chief Exec's office getting results, but may be mistaken.

    Good luck

If the problem is only with indoor coverage then there's nothing Orange can do about it, no mobile provider guarantees indoor coverage, it's in the contract, have you tried locking both the handsets to 2g?

The absolute worst thing you can do is cancel your DD, you'll default on the contract and have to pay the full amount.

Under normal circumstances, ie when not using a Pico cell, Voda would not guarantee signal indoors

That booster is basically a mini mobile mast, bit like a wifi router but one that uses the frequency of your mobile. It just routes your call via the mobile router, though the internet via your phone line to the vodafone network, where the call then operates as normal.

  • Hi terric09,

I work for Orange and may be able to help.

If you can please contact me via the email address in my profile page, including your mobile/account number and best contact number, I will give you a ring to discuss. If you can include your username from this site so I can link the email to your post, that would be great.

    I hope this helps.
