  • Hi Caseyface.

If you love to dance I would really recommend the Ministry of Sound dvds. I got an oldish one (2008 I think) off play.com for £6.

I've found it tricky (!) as I'm not particularly co-ordinated but it is one hell of a work out - 1.15hr. It'd broken into 6 sections so you dont have to do it all at once! Loads of different dance moves it's great!

I'm just at 10 stone, starting WW on Saturday to shed hopefully 1.5 stone.

Going on a diet would probably be more effective.

You won't lose weight on diet alone sadly....well you will, but it'd take longer. :)

  • Thanks Sarah

Closed, i'm aware a diet will help me to lose weight but i'd like to get fit aswell, so cheers for that
  • You're better off starting the exercise first. This is because if you start a diet plan and all is going well, you can start exercising and actually put on weight due to muscle build up. Obviously thiscan feel de-motivating. Best to get your muscles building up first then start the diet :-)

awww - I loved tae kwon do about ten years ago but had to give it up when sensie moved away - so bought Tae Bo video - jeez - i had green belt and couldnt even get through the warmup! lmao
seriously - If you love to dance - I love the bellydance half hours on sky! dvds are available in this though.
otherwise - dancing is great exercise - but i would research the dvd to make sure you like the music. orrrrrrrrrrr - make a compilation cd of your greatest dance hits - get your hairbrush for your mike - and move it girl!

There's more to health than just being smaller! Exercise is good for your heart and lungs, prevents osteoporosis and the best bit is, the more muscle tissue you have the more calories you burn just sitting down doing nothing!

I go to the gym these days but back when I was too shy/skint to do that I used Rosemary Conley's (old fashioned but effective!), Helen from Big Brother 2 which is brilliant too and probably about 50p on ebay these days, and Barbara Currie's power yoga. I wasn't flexible either when I started the yoga but now I can put my feet behind my head and stand on one leg for hours. I don't generally need to but I could if the situation arose!

am sitting here trying to imagine how i would need to put my feet behind my head and stand on one leg for hours.
    porno movie perhaps?
oops sorry - er lmao - had to stand on feet for hours when working - but not sure of customers reactions if i had put both feet behind head. though shifting from foot to foot is usually how i coped.
