This lunchtime I spent 25mins trying (and eventually succeded) to get Leo's (black/white BOY cat) PINK ball from under/in the cooker. It had gone under the cooker and then got stuck (somehow) on a ledge at the back with no way for it to get out. Hoover didnt work, scissors didnt work, pen didnt work. In the end I got a long screwdriver, speared the ball (it's one with holes in), tipped the cooker on an angle and had to force the ball between two metal side thingys and onto the side where there was a hole just big enough for me to put my fingers through and grab the ball.

He spent the next few mins playing football and fetch and was over the moon that he had his ball back (he has others but will only play with his pink ball

Lol Cally - I thought you were going to say he knocked it straight back under the cooker again! :rotfl:

Are they sat on your nicely ironed clothes there? That would be where my cats would head for too. That or onto the dining table when I put a nice clean tablecloth on. Good job I don't actually ever use it for eating from, YUK!

My tip for the weekend - now you may think I am mad and throw me off the challenge, but I am prepared for this :D

If you have lots of ideas, but no real avenue to go down, then join the club. I make a psycho wall. Now stop backing away from the computer, I am sane, so bear with me.

A psycho wall is a reflection of your mind. i use post if notes. Write rapidly on the post it notes every single idea in your head. One per post it. However stupid and silly or monumental and huge. Stick them in a deranged manner all over a wall. I use the toilet wall for this. If you have kids then put the notes high up or they'll go walkies !!! Then you will have emptied your mind. Have a damn good nights sleep.

come back in the morning. Re look at the notes and see if there is anything obvious you can ditch. If you are happy, then start rearranging the notes. It can be in sections of your choice - no budget needed versus big budget needed, or sports/pets/kids/entertainment , or things you are passionate about versus boring but possibly lucrative. Start grouping them and see if any patterns appear. See if some link together and therefore would make it easier to get involved with.

If you have grouped by budget, start putting the post its in order of no expense needed right up to loads of money needed. Then start tackling the first ones - research them and see if they are viable.

The idea is to remove everything from your brain to think more clearly. As long as you have the post its, you wont need to feel like you are swimming in your ideas and things to do and stuff. And when you are in the toilet, you can study the notes and come up with more ideas, guests can offer advice when they use the loo !!

I did this last year and saw a clear link in bridal stuff. Many ideas linked into this. So I built on this and built a business around it. I ended up selling it so not a great point to use to illustrate this, but you get the drift

I know where you are coming from here. Too many ideas swirling around in the head to sort out, this is me too. Its a good idea to commit them to paper, your brain can then rest for a bit.

Sometimes when you come back to look at the ideas, you have a bit of a eureka moment - but even if you don't its worth it for a good night's sleep.

  • Exactly !! I think some of us are pressuring ourselves to come up with the elusive idea, and it doesnt always happen. I seem to have 101 ideas at any one time and it hurts my head !!

I have always said that my brain never ever shuts down. I have constant lists running through my head, I forget little but have no idea how to relax and I have no doubt it is because I never ever switch off!! Might try this writing things down ...... great idea!!
