  • Old enough to know better, Saucy you shameless hussy ... but if you want to stand at the front and shout 'Cesc, t'estimo, vull tenir els teus nens' you never know your luck ...
  • I really wouldn't feel that way, Jane. I know it sounds bad, but the majority of the time, it's just the person trying to ensure you give them a refund. I doubt they gave the toy to the child without putting batteries in, and they won't have told them they ordered it in case it didn't arrive.

An apology and a refund is the best way forward, and take it in your stride. Honestly, most sellers are a nightmare, so the buyer should be happy with that. Don't be unmotivated by it, you are doing so well!

Just got back into my email which has been down for weeks to find a reminder of a complaint about an item I ebayed. I had no idea of it and didn't realise the message wouldn't come through on my ebay message page and feel very sad and demotivated.

It was a toy and I hadn't checked the batterry compartment like I usually do and they were corroded and must have taken a spring off with them so it's no use now. Very annoyed with myself and have offered apologies and a full refund but it was the mention of the disappointment of the child that has me here in tears.

I was really enjoying my ebay success and feeling proud of getting my act together a bit and doing something about getting some money in but now I just feel sick.

I know i should put it down to experience and learn from it but it's the tlittle things that get to me.
Oh no! But it was an honest mistake and if you've done all you can then at least you've learned from it. The child won't remember probably in a couple of weeks so don't dwell on it, just continue to do your best :) *hugs*
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
  • Aww dont feel down, im sure they put about the child being disappointed just to add weight to their case. What decent parent doesnt check a second hand toy before giving it to their child? and if they had told the child about the toy before they had inspected it then thats just as bad i think accidents happen please dont let it bring you down!

Happens to the best of us Jane ... as long as you refund then they can't complain too much. They should have just said it didn't work, no need to try the emotional blackmail. Don't take it to heart, we all make mistakes once in a while.
  • ....and there are all sorts of buyers out there most reasonable and mature enough to realise a genuine mistake and some just plain awkward no matter what.

    Thanks, guys.

Just had a little cry  then went and kissed my own babies which is always a comfort. Got some choc and a cuppa now. Perhaps i should be more annoyed about using all my brown paper, tape, bubble wrap and about half an hour of my time wrapping the damn thing!! :undecided
