thank nixi - got the diary started - strange but i feel like stopping as its just become too - dont want to use the word successful- busy too soon and am beginning to panic and have doubts if i can really do this.are they any good?what do people really think? etc etc. i know i'm being silly but normally anything i attempt falls flat and OH isnt the most supportive/encouraging at times!! oh carp why do some people sail through everything and never bat an eyelid.
sorry for the moaning but nobody else would understand as well as the buddies on here. now feel guilty at moaning about it taking off when some people are struggling - cant win - bloody concience
edit - been watching and think that what planted the seed months back1BREATHE!!! just relax hun, obviously people think theyre good - thats why they are wanting them hun, once you get organised properly you'll soon start enjoying it - DONT stop doing it though
Skint I think Hales is spot on.
I think you are at a point of making a decision. If you carry on like this you will hate it becuase you are so tired and not enjoying it. You need to make a choices.
Can you give up work and make this full time? If so you need to plan achieving that - you need to look at your diary and book out the time you won't work..... decide how many cakes you can do max per week....whether full time or part time, and also cost your cakes properly. You can tell your work colleagues that because of how busy you are you are having to plan your work and charge properly BUT if they will pass on your details to anyone they know who wants a cake you will still do the best you can for them when you can! They will be happy for you that it has been a success and that they have helped you!:j
remember this is your dream, and you have proved you are good enough now you just need to make ti work to suit you. Your customers love what you do and understand they are buying your time, and your time is limited. Well done for getting this far!!
Plan where you want to be and plan your route from here!
Sorry I really have my bossy head on tonight :rotfl:Life is a work in progress0 -
HALES:25 ITEMS LISTED ON EBAY NOW,
Can you update my commitments when you get a minute. thanks
nixi: thanks - just increased my hours at work as o/h work is a bit ropey but will make a timetable of all the other things i have to do and see whats left for cakes. giving up daytime job is not an option at the moment ~been there 25 years since i was 17 did try for vol. redundancy 18 months ago but hopefully when economic climate picks up there will be more - ideal would be tearoom doing antiques, collectables and home baking, with celebration cakes decorated with laura ahley or kath kidson tableclothes, glass cake stands, in a barn with my imaginary chickens (eeny meeny miny and mo named them but not got them)oh if only - sounds a bit twee, can but dreamskintbint x

well my Monsoon dresses have arrived and they are FAB! they still have their labels attached too..... I can't wait to get them on ebay.... I do have a quick questions though..... would a dress worn by a model attract you more than a dress on a dummy??
Congratulations on your ebay listings :T
In answer to your question about model or dummy, if these are new clothes with label (or should that be BNWT) then you'll do better displaying the clothes on a dummy as for me as soon as a person has worn the clothes, they are no longer new. At least in a shop you know someone has tried clothes on and taking them off again. If an eBayer has clothes on people I don't know if the kids have worn the clothes all day / all night.
It sounds like you've a good contact for clothes and could use the dummy again - so my tuppence worth of opinion is to invest. It also means you can take pictures when it suits you, not when the models are available.
Hope that helps and doesn't confuse
EDIT: Showing my response an hour after you've decided to buy the dummy... not quite sure what happened there. Sorry!0 -

Just did my matched betting for the week, I think this will be the last one I'll do, it makes me feel nervous when I do it and takes me about an hour as I have to keep checking and checking again to make sure I've done it right, and after an hour I still made a mistake and didnt place the free bet but used my own cash which means I'll only get a couple of £'s profit. I don't like the feeling I get when I do it so I think its the last for me, its worked for a lot of people, but its just not for me, I think I'll be sticking with clothing for now. Thanks BetMunch for all your help!0

I think you should go for the job, if in 3 months time you decide its not right for you then you can always say you tried and go back to. You wouldn't want to be here in a years time wondering what if...0
