well what a day I have had , I had the company of my eldest daughter for most of the day - like having ds off school wasn't enough! The poor girl needed her Mum, her Nan( dad's mother) passed away last night (and i think the word disfunctional was invented for that family) but to cut a long story short dd feels very very guilty for not visiting nan when she was in hospital even though she hadn;t be told how bad she was . we just have to find out when the funeral is now which will be hard as they won't tell her dad - i am wondering if the crematorium would tell me if I called them ?

but on the money making side of things I have signed up for a few MS sites today

Have to admit to having a nose ot the no dribble thread to see if they had any good ideas but figured i was far better off over here where i could dribble away to my hearts content

:( Sorry to hear that. Perhaps your daughter could call the family? I know when our family fell out, us kids were always still put first with things like that? If she said how much she'd like to be there and for what reasons, maybe they'd accept it and put the problems on hold for the day?

If not, I should imagine you could find out that way, there's no reason you shouldn't know

  • I think the A-Z one is a competition wins thing, like if you win a t-shirt you've got your 'T'. First to get the whole alphabet wins.. erm.. nothing :S

    Ta :)
I'll give that one a miss then! My fella and his brother win everything they enter and are always up on gambling etc. His brother won £900 out of £60 at Chrimbo, followed by a 10p bet raking in £80 for fella. I'm hopeless though!
I could sit here for a year and not win a single bet or competition!!!

Sorry to hear that Jane hope you and dd are ok. Not sure about the crematorium but it's worth a try- take care hun.

Mambury lol yeah know what you mean about Holsworthy!! Sounds like you are attractive to foreign bidders today... It's not dodgy shoes is it?

no, Mabel... only kids clothes! Its just too wierd... maybe some scammers? I have low feedback on that ID as its new.... maybe they thought they could get one over on me! Not a chance, I;ve been ebay too long now!!
HOlsworthy janners! LOL!!! Its even worse where I live.... I have a neighbour lives about 250m away still won't talk to me as I wasn't born in Devon. I;ve lived here in the same house for 8 years!!!

Jane - sorry about the loss, dysfunctional or not (I know quite a bit about that, I should be supplying Eastenders with their story lines! LOL!) it can't be easy for you..... We are here if you need us!

  • Hugs for Saucy, hope you're feeling a bit better now, and fingers n toes crossed!

Hugs to you of course Jane, and your DD - so sorry to hear the news it's always difficult when families go to bits.

Nixi, hope you're enjoying your time in the smelly cupboard!

It's taken me till now to get sat down properly and read through the thread. I'd just like to echo the sentiments posted earlier about how supportive this thread is. I'm pretty sure it's the only one on the entire board that doesn't have the odd biatchy comment and that's so refreshing. Thank you everyone.

Ok, off to check my eBay listings ... not holding my breath!!

Hello all! My word I've missed so so many pages.

Not been on for a few days as was struck down with the evil tonsilitis (I have M.E. and whenever I do a bit too much/get run down I get tonsilitis) with the jobs of a raging fever. Feeling more human (though still a 75% snot human) today so reporting in to well, report on not doing anything LOL. I have a note form my Mum, if that helps? ;)

I lie, I have decided my "company" name will be Glengarden Art (so that if I decide to include other art type projects or side work it can go under the same name).

I know what I need to do is do a couple more sample paintings/drawings of animals, as I only have the one dog one saved. I DID have a horse painting but sadly don't think it was scanned. I;m thinking of doing a cat one and maybe another dog, so that I have a mix of sample of work to put on my site/leaflets.

And that's as far as I've got.

The bad news is, as I was falling ill I sold 2 items of make-up online and in my haze sent each one to the wrong address. So I've had to pay for them to be reposted and there goes my profit. *sigh* so it's not been a good week.

Hope everyone is doing better, off to ctach up on all the pages I missed.
  • RANT ALERT...

I've been playing with the calculator thing on entitledto.whatever and basically the realistic income whatever i do workwise (P/T, F/T or P/T with a bit of self employment like now - Anything apart from being unemployed really) minus rent and council tax and any relevant childcare costs would leave me with between £203-205 p/w for food, utilites, clothes, transport, fun etc. I was considering getting a 'proper' f/t job but if i'm not going to be any better off and essentially letting someone in a nursery bring up my son is it really worth it??

Don't get me wrong I don't want to be a bum/sponger/drain on taxpayers resources but if i'm not actually going to see any financial benefit should I really have to lose out with my son??

Currently I work 11-15hours p/w over 3/4 nights at a club, do Avon (rubbishly), this challenge (whatevers taxable is being accounted for properly), bring up a hyperactive yet lovely boy single handedly and study for a degree and bookkeeping course. Once the new bar is sorted I can get away with working 2-2&1/2 nights for the same money/hours so is it really going to be beneficial in any way getting a F/T job??

I'm in such a stupid situation where nothing quite adds up  :wall:
