    thankyou Shell .

I am getting slightly worried that all of my much loved maternity clothes are going to sell for 99p .... i think i'd cry please tell me not auctions start to move until the last hour - mine finish tomorrow
to be honest i would be getting worried. if you don't want them to go for 99p i would cancel the auctions and put a higher starting price next time.

my dh has been buying clothes off ebay at the last minute and got loads of designer brand clothing for 99p.

when things sell for 99p you only end up with about 60p after paypal and ebay fees - it not worth it unless you bump up the postage (which is naughty!)
  • On the subject of Maternity clothes... Is it wrong that I still have mine when my Son's 3!! :o Disgusting things too they are, they were early xmas presents off my mother, so I only actually wore the cropped jeans (about twice because it was November!) and lived in leggings, elasticated skirts and stretchy tops instead. Think they may be quite high up on my 'to eBay' list :rotfl:

Yay!! After reading these posts I have set up a blog on my new german shepherd puppy! I have always wanted to create one but thought I had nothing worthwhile blogging about- but then I thought "why not do one about the pup?" Share the joys/hassle of a new puppy! I am really pleased that I did it- thank you all for giving me the confidence to start it!
    lovin' this site!

:( another day doing nothing! I never got round to doing the mothers day box as dd has been all clingy with a temp and it is my only full day/night off until next Thursday. I don't think I will get very far with this challenge unless I can by motivation by injection!

We have a Border Collie too! If you're in the FB group have a look at my pics, he's called Tricky and he's 6 :)
Have cheered up a bit now; been making this 'thing' that's taking ages, will def. be finished tonight! YummyMummy, I still wear my maternity tops quite often - next year's 10K will go on a boob reduction and tummy tuck! Or should that be next year's 20K:rotfl:

There is a huge market for pet portraits. I used to do a lot but have backed off from that side of things now.

I'd say you want at least £80 for a painting that size.

I can give you more details if you like, I'll help any way I can. Just PM me if you want anything.

Thanks so much for your offer. I will PM you after the weekend, when I will sit down and try and do some planning.

Icckle - that painting is amazing. you have a real talent. You def. could make some money offering that as a service. If you set up a website, get business cards, ask local pet shops to offer your service, contact local vets (do vets have notice boards? if so get a poster up!) ooo - does your local library/village hall do exhibitions? if so, and you have a selection of your work, you could have a display....you get to try and sell your pictures and also sell your service! Visit craft fayres and have a stall....... really jealous of your talent!

I know there are a couple of vet surgeries near by so I will look into that. The irony is, had I thought of this 5 years ago (when I'd just met my DH) I would have had SUCh an easy in. My mother-in-law used to breed dogs, attend dog shows and ran a very succesful cattery/kennels! Sadly, she's retired from it all, or I would have had some amazing contacts.

vistaprint - as they will send you offers every day! so can be a bit spammy - but i don't complain when i get 100 postcards and 100 leaflets all full colour for just £7.00 something ;)

good luck with it and oh get a blog so we can link to it ;)

Thanks for the Vistaprint tips, I will remember that. And I abolsutely will set up a blog.

Rosie - I did the painting in this thread from a photo (I imagine pets won't sit still long to pose, LOL) so I'd be happy to do a painting for you of your beloved pet. And obviously give you a cheap rate for Dribblers. :D PM me if you want to do it and we'll sort it out, I'll let you know where to send the photo.

I guess this makes it official. I'm IN, people. :D This weekend I will think about a name, a plan of action, look into the website and blog and post an update on Monday. :)

Edited to add: THANK you so much everyone for the help, advice nad enouragement and the compliments. I need someone on my back to get me to do anything so this thread has helped me so much and I'm very excited.

Some people out of sheffield hate it, but for any expats and people who just like it, it could be a something a bit rarer to sell!, whats your views?:D
