It has also occured to me that at least for listing fees you get the opportunity to see and agree those fees before you place your listing, so if you aren't show what it is going to cost then always read the pre listing page.

If you listing direct onto ebay then the final page will very clearly show the fees plus all the extras...double check before you list that it isn't too expensive and that you haven't done somehting silly. If using turbo lister then again you can either click 'check fees' or just set TL up to calculate them automatically.
