Vent Techguys

Hi,

I need some of your opinions on an issue i am having with the Techguys (computer support). I've been having issues with my computer with the fan making a loud noise when the computer is on even the guy on the phone when reporting it said he could hear it. I rang the first time on Friday 22nd and got an appointment for monday 25th and the guy arrived about 10.30. He stayed 10 mins and then left saying he did not have the part fixed and that he could take the computer into repair, He then said he would put it in his car and leave it there till he went back to were it was to be fixed i was not happy about the idea of having no computer for 10 working days and the fact it would be in the boot of his car all day. He said all it needed was a new fan (He should of had the part because the guy said on the phone he would order one for him) So when he left i rang up again and had someone out today 27th and guess what he never brought the fan with him that was ordered so this is twice they have come out without the part to fix it! Now i spoke on the phone today to Techguys and they are coming out on saturday i feel like i have had two morning wasted. I am not after any money just a simple sorry we wasted your time would be nice. Has anyone else had issues with Techguys support? Just want to get some opinions before i call up and complain about the two wasted mornings.

Thanks

Would this be Pc Worlds Techguys?

Assuming it is i would rather give my Pc to a primary school class to fix,i have heard nothing but bad news about them and simply would not use them.

I wish you luck, and im sorry that i cant help.

Yes it is PC world techguys, I just hope to get it sorted this Saturday. I refused to sign the sheet today because he never had the part that was ordered.

  • I agree with Norant, being part of PC World the Tech Guys are as bad as PC World itself and should be avoided.

Your paying for an over priced service, wheter they fix it or not. You will be far better to find a local repairer who will only charge you for fixing it. The pc world Tech Guys are in plain and simple terms NOOBS they just don't have a clue. Thats not to say 1 or 2 don't know what they are doing but the rest are useless, they remind me of kwik fit, more bad than good!!!

When i was at university I applied to work as a tech guy in the local PC world part time.

I had already obtained the Cisco qualifications CCNA 1+2 and Comptia A+, Network+ and Security+ and the MCSE (microsoft certified systems Engineer) from college prior to going to university.

My application was rejected as I hold no sales qualifications.

Wonder what would happen if i went back with my BSc in Computing.

LOL its mad. A friend of mine has always worked in IT and there isn't a lot of problems he can't fix yet they wouldn't take him as he didn't have retail sales experience.

Just spent over 1 hour on the phone to Tech guys trying to explain my complaint. In the end i spoke to a guy "team leader" so he will look into the issue. Glad i rang the free phone number thanks to SAYNOTO0870 otherwise i would have had to ring 0844 number. Lets hope they bring the parts this time to try and repair my computer instead of turning up with no parts to try and repair it.

Just thought i would update the thread, Had a phone call today at 7.55am techguy saying he would be there in the next 20 mins knew he was coming so i was up and ready. He arrived and had the part that he needed to fix my PC there and then it is now working great. He stayed and checked a few other things and left after about 20 mins. Even thou the parts were tagged with the other 2 appointments they never brought them, however he brought the part that was needed. So i am happy with todays visit.
