Beenie - you get £50 quidco and £15 boots voucher if you set up a £10 DD (then cancel it once you get the vouchers ;))

GISI - I got my boots vouchers in December, I set up the CTF right at the end off oct, IIRC they only managed to take the DD once before I'd got the vouchers and cancelled it

Child Trust Fund - I was just going to put Amber's in Yorkshire building society as that's where DS's is and it seems they still have one of the best interest rates.

Is there an MSE reason why i should be putting it into the one you're all using? Engage Mutual? I thought that was a shares one that you could lose it all?

Engage Mutual is a stakeholder fund, but as the market is relatively low at the moment and the investment is for 18 years, chances are the market will be higher by the time LO cashes it in, IMHO. The reason lots of folks on here went for the Engage one is that you get £50 on Quidco plus £20 of Boots vouchers if you set up a DD so that's quite a good return already on £250!

My mum cleaned and tided the house ready for Katie coming home, then for the first week, whilst I was still quite sore from the op she popped in every day to see how we were doing.

It's like home to her though as her and dad lived with us for 6 years so no concerns about coffee making and food provision, she just helped herself.

She was here when DH's family descended on us too so she did all the drink making etc.

Had a blonde moment this morning - left my debit card at home and didn't realise until I got to the till in Aldi - mad rush home and back again.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

Ed was born at 6:13am on saturday morning, mum n dad had Chris over night on the Saturday and Sunday (my sister was home too so she brought him back monday morning) but they also brought him here during the day so he didn't feel pushed out by Ed. Mum did all my washing for the first week and she has done the boys' washing since Chris was born :o :A I didn't cook for the first week or 2, I had some stew/chilli/bolognaise frozen, my sister came round and cooked a few times and mum&MIL send hotpot/stews and OH cooked pasta and steak n chips too.
I'm a lucky cow and most grateful!

The thing is, if Amber's £500 turns into £3k after 18 years (random figure) then that's not fair on my DS who has had his money in a 'safe' account for the last 6 years.

So if i put it into EM, for cashback purposes could i then change it to YBS after i've received the cashback? I'd want to split the cashback between both kids' accounts so it's 'fair'. I know their accounts will differ cos of interest rates etc but i'm wary of there being a significant difference.

I just stuck Keira's CTF with the Halifax, I dunno why! Easiest probably, but she has less in it now than she did to begin with as I think it's shares. Hey ho. I'll start up a savings account for her one of these days so she has something from us.

OH is away into town to get his new PS3. He is on a boys night out tonight, but my mum is maybe going to take Keira tonight (as Ellie wants her to come stay) so if she does I'll maybe go out with my friends and meet up with OH later on.

I sound like a right p!sshead nowadays, I'm not honest! It's only been since I lost the majority of my weight I've felt able to go out with friends and socialise, I practically was a hermit for the 3years after I had Keira.

Sami!! your parents still wash the boys clothes? LOL, jammy!

Beenie, maybe you could get another £50 if you move Ds' to engage?

Has anyone moved their LO's CTF? I might move Chris's to EM so they're the same...
