Trouble is Tia, if you sell and the surveyor checks the electrics for more recent works, you have to produce a completion certificate, they changed the law couple of years ago!
I thought you were allowed to do stuff yourself but you have to get a qualified electrician to certify it?

mleh, anyway, Dh just phoned. FIL is coming up at the weekend to do a MEGA TEST (I expect that involves a transformer outfit and suitable shee-owww-eee-eee-owww sounds) and he is going to switch fuse box to a trip switch type (it was the meter itself he wouldn't change) and switch the broken socket(s) and fix things and stuff.

As if I could even talk DH into selling this crappy little house anyway huh!

Yep Susan, spot on, and they charge a small fortune to do it, tut!

I hope you get something sorted Tia, or just move OH into that part of the house and you live in the other, see how he gets on!

Tara, I have figments of the internet on another website on the case too, one of them has sent me a link where I should be able to find a bit of information (he does internet stuff for other PALS trusts) and another is asking a midwife friend :)

Hmmm..... house prices seem to be back up now.

    And I like this

But there is no parking (just out of shot is the 30signs for the village) and no access to the rear.
