Haven't had time to catch up on much, but did see Tara's posts and am shocked. I thought it was NHS policy to feed all breastfeeding mums, whether or not mum was an inpatient. When Edward was admitted for a week at 4 weeks old, I stayed in the room with him, and we were told very clearly that I was entitled to meals on the ward as a breastfeeding mum, and also that if I was hungry between meals that I should ask the nurses looking after him to make me some toast, as it was important for his sake that my milk supply be kept up. I wasn't an inpatient, just the visiting mum. My OH when he visited obviously wasn't entitled to meals and nor were the non breastfeeding mums on the ward. I was still fed even when they wanted me to express for a day and bottle feed him formula to see whether that made any difference to his condition, as it was important to keep the supply up in case (as turned out to be the case) ff made no difference to his condition and I resumed breastfeeding.

Busy day for us today. Police came this morning to take the report of the burglary, then DS's birthday party this afternoon, then SOCO's came to try to collect fingerprints (unsuccessfully sadly) this evening. Am now pretty shattered so off to bed.

I can't/won't do that SM. I would if I thought he was just being a booger. Its like he's scared of something, mum had to bring him back here last friday because he was so upset - I normally have to drag him away from there kicking and screaming

I think Sami is right, as always!
  • Sami, Jas used to do that, and although she still doesnt like going to sleep, she does stay in bed all night and even if she wakes up, she doesnt get up, purely because I never allowed her into my bed. If she tried, she got lifted straight away and put back without being talked to,I just gave her a kiss and said night night again and walked out the room. It took probably 4 or 5 nights, and I think she was about Christophers age when it started, btu has been fine ever since unless shes sick xx

ETA - just read your last post .... umm not sure, could you sleep in his room a night with him and see if there is a noise or something that is causing him to wake ??

I only did it cos he had his 4th poo of the day about 30mins before I was going to put his night-time nappy on so I thought I wouldn't waste a nappy for such a short time and it will be good for him to get some air on butt cheeks!

He was holding his feet in his hands with his bum in the air and I did think 'If he poos right now it will shot across the room' I honestly think I would have wet myself laughing if this had happened :rotfl:
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
