He hates being flannelled! I think I am too rough
And he always has fluff between his toes, I get embarrassed when there is red fluff mixed in and he wore his red socks a week ago:rotfl:
I just wondered what others were doing. I know some bathe every day but there is no way I would be up for that!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

LOL -Weezl! My username is a bit ironic really, my relationship with my dad isn't that great! It's not that bad, they are just very, very different people to me.
Ooo - does Fergie not get that line of neck grub that Benjamin gets? Actually, he seems to get that whether I bath him or not!
We probably have a bath twice a week. Although it has been twice since hubby went into hospital on Thursday, it is just a different thing to do when you have been with baby all day and baby is used to seeing his daddy too.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

note to self: closer inspection of son's neck would be good. Poor lad. Cheesy neck and a santa suit in February.
Seriously though I'm pretty glad we're not daily bathers with this gap between pregnancies. I know I'd really struggle to do a nightly bath now. *rubs small of back in classic pregnant woman pose*
Hope hubby can come back soon. Is B seeming OK about him not being there?

Hi Lady,
Not really a special recipe as such.
6oz marg (vitalite seems to help make it lighter - tip from cheffy SIL)
5oz S/R flour (mum substitutes 1oz of cornflour in this but I didn't have any)
3oz Cadbury drinking chocolate (not cocoa proper purple tub drinking choc)
6oz caster sugar
3 eggs.
mix together but dont beat it too hard.
add 3 tbsp boiling water (this makes it very runny but also makes sponge really light and airy)
mix together again until smooth but don't over beat.
Pour evenly into two sandwich tins.
Bake at Gas 5 (180) for 35 ish minutes.
Icing is icing sugar, marg/butter, milk if needed to make smoother, peppermint flavouring and green colouring. Has to be green, mum used blue once when she ran out of green and it truely did not taste right at all!!!
Sandwich both pieces together with the butter icing in the middle. Make a cuppa and enjoy.

Cool. I might do my normal chocolate sponge recipe, and make some minty icing to go with it. My normal recipe is a "bung it all in the blender and switch it on, then pour it into the tin and cook it" one. Which is about my level when it comes to baking.My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Also - does anyone else have a baby who drinks bath water and should I be stopping him? At the moment I just find it really funny, he sticks his face in the water to get a mouthful and then comes up spluttering! We already have to have 2 sponges so he can have one to suck and I can have one to wash him.
Yep. She sucks the water off her ducks too!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

He is being good but he is definitely missing him. Hubby sent me a photo of himself so I put it as the background of my phone (where there is usually a pic of Benjamin) and Benjamin sat with my phone for ages today looking at daddy and kissing him and holding him really close to his eyes. I was in tears
I think it is going to be hard when hubby gets back and Benjamin can't be lifted up for a cuddle.
Have spent ages on the phone to hubby today but it is really hard when he is sat doing nothing much (recovering LOL) and I am focussing on Benjamin which is where hubby would much rather be. Roll on next week!!
Did you say if you got away with the santa babygro? I missed it if you did xxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Currently eating a Maccys chicken legend with salsa in an attempt to unblock my nose. Doing nothing for my nose but my lips are on fire
Tigs, I can't stand thought of pureed meat - I've seen too many "look how gross this food processing is" type programmes (*ahem* noone mention the Maccys!) - but we've had butter basted chicken breast that just fell apart into tiny bits after a few attacks with a fork
Would pureed meat actually look like thick soupy kinda stuff? _pale_
