Usually yes. Addresses are easy to come by. They might use the share register to find people to sell dodgy shares to for example. Or it could be completely random. However if you have ever been taken in by a scam and sent money off then it could be a bit different. Scammers sell "suckers lists" to each other of people who have previously been taken in. These addresses will get a lot of junk mail and the more you respond the worse it will get. To see just how bad see Think Jessica
However even here there is no identity fraud - unless you get so taken in you give them your bank details and passwords etc. Based on what you have said you have nothing to worry about.0 -
Thanks for putting my mind at rest, I like to think I'm on the ball when it comes to scams, I have never given my details away to anyone, but you always read about new scams and just never know.
