If your PC has Windows Movie Maker installed, use that.
If you want to try something different, install 'Avidemux'.

If your PC has Windows Movie Maker installed, use that.
I have Windows Movie Maker. I have just used it & done my editing, but i can't watch the video in windows media player
A message comes up saying " Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.".
Can someone help:o

What did you save your finished file as?
Erm im not sure
just clicked save and now i can't watch it.
When i save... I renamed it & under that option i have ...
"Save as type:" Windows Movie Maker Projects.
But there is no other option to save as?

That will only save the project you need to click Save Movie File.0

In view tick task pane, expand section 3 finish movie, choose the most appropriate option.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Another bit of help needed
.
I'm trying to edit another video but i can't import the video i want to edit. I get an error message.
" MP4 could not be imported. A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed."

What operating system are you using, if its XP or Vista then no Windows Moviemaker will not edit them.
The Windows 7 , Windows Live Moviemaker will work.
Hopefully someone will be able to advise on file conversion.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
