Virgin uses T-Mobiles network. Use them for PAYG and found them to be very good. HTH0

I've had 2 virgin pay as you go phones for a couple of years. there okay. cheap and cheerful. i think they piggy back another network, but couldn't tell you which.
my only gripe is the network is busy every new years eve, so texts don't go.
not a major gripe for me, so long as they remain cheap.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0 -

Try a PAYG SIM before committing to a contract. There is a lot of rubbish talked about T-Mobile coverage but all networks have areas of bad coverage!

Its always worth checking out a networks coverage at the place you tend to use the phone the most, either from a friends phone or a pay as you go sim if you have an unlocked phone, before commiting to a contract.0

Not really interested in PAYG but I know that both Vodaphone and O2 work well in my house due to new booster ariels nearby.
Not sure about T-mobile as again do not know anyone on this network.£2 saver club, over £200 now:

I've had Virgin phone service for a few years too, very helpful CS, and very happy with the service.
All networks suffer problems with SMS during very busy periods like New Year, people on O2 and Orange were complaining this year because a lot were failing or taking 3 or more days to be received. SMS uses spare capacity on the network, and have the lowest priority, therefore if there are loads of calls happening, SMS has to suffer slightly.
Though Orange customers were complaining also as they were struggling to make calls, as the network was busy. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Yes I agree they all have problems. It sounds like you have had good service from Virgin so might give this a go. Thank you£2 saver club, over £200 now:

But what expresso is suggesting that you try a PAYG sim in whatever network before you commit to a contract
Good advice I would say as there are a lot of people on here who are complaining they don't get a good reception after they have taken out a contract with a network0
