 Has anyone else had a problem with paypal fees?? A buyer claims that something was bought through her account 3 months ago via Ebay and her permission was not given. I THE SELLER have now been charged a £7.00 fee plus the original payment has been taken back leaving my account in the red!!! I understand that people getting defrauded is common but why am I getting charged for something that is not my fault when I provided proof of postage???? SURELY THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!!! CAN ANYONE HELP

PayPal has ruined eBay. A lot of people find themselves in similar situations.0

This is why I haven't used eBay for selling since the new rules came in, and only rarely buy these days. I sympathise with you and agree with the post above.0

I haven't used Paypal for a long time either, although the rules always used to be that Proof of Delivery was required as opposed to proof of postage.0 -

Took me 2 or 3 reads to understand the rant. I hope you look after your eBay/PayPal account in a clearer manner.
If you did nothing wrong and have evidence of delivery then phone PayPal. If you don't have proof of delivery then still phone them because they may see things your way (ie it seems you did nothing wrong) plus I'm assuming the goods went to the correct PayPal address (yes?).
PayPal is an excellent thing for most although it can be annoying for bad Sellers, scammers, petit-scammers, flybynight scumbags and people who are daft.
Just phone them.0 -
Thank you for you sarcastic advice, very helpful i'm sure!!
Thankfully I had some advice from a much more understanding and politer member and managed to solve the problem with their help.
I suggest as this is a site for helping people solve problems that you change your attitude when offering help or don't bother giving advice at all!!0 -
I think that was quite sound advice, personally - if I have a problem with a company, a phone call is usually well worth the while to help sort things out.
Then again, if you flip out at people over the phone as easily as you did in your last post, I doubt somebody on the phone to you is likely to be any more help.
Chill!

If you want polite and understanding speak to a priest.
My advice is helpful, solid and pertinent. And when I post it's not just for you as people come here from Google.0 -

Perhaps you could ask for a refund from customer services for any advice where you don't like the manner in which is was delivered? Oh wait, it was freely given.
I'd personally prefer to receive "blunt" advice that was correct than lovely fluffy words that didn't really do much, but that's just me.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
That charge £7 OP is what Paypal received, from the bank, for a fraudulent transaction.
Give Paypal all of the details you can, OP, if a postive feedback was left, Proof of Postage, etc..
I've had this as well. Makes me laugh, Paypal accepts the card, Paypal holds the money, you as the seller have no way of knowing other than a confirmed address yet Paypal passes the fee onto you. Tha was my note to stop selling on eBay too!!
Just give them all the information, it took 4 months but they suddenly decided that the transaction was not fraudulent and let me have the funds back. As for the £7 charge, no of course I did not get that back, they held onto it.
Basically anyone can buy something from eBay, tell their card issuer it was not authorised and Paypal will just take the money back off you and charge you £7 for completing a transaction where an authorised card was used.
I was damn angry too!!0
