help with mot due date

    If you take a car for an early MOT and it fails - say it is due in feb but you take it in jan, you can still use the car until the date of the current MOT expires.

    I was told exactly the opposite when I took my previous car for its MOT, tester said that the failure is recorded on computer so car is shown has having no current MOT.

    Also if a car has failed MOT it is in an unroadworthy condition so an offence is committed if it is driven on public highway.
