    1. Do you count direct debits, or just things like groceries, clothes, magazines etc?
    2. How do you all keep motivated? I have decided to put £1 in a jam jar for each day I manage, to be spent at the end of the month as I wish (it may well go in the ISA). Does anyone have any other ideas?

Another NSD for me - can't quite believe it. Maybe being 2 days before pay day helps!

Lizzy, I left out direct debits etc. Only count money I am spending. Basically do what works for you and helps you not to spend.

Today is another NSD for me - spent £4.40 on fabric BUT it was for work and put a petty cash claim in for it today so I am evens on that. Always like it if you can combine an NSD with a claim for expenses - that feels really good:D

    Hi everyone
Well I persisted and managed another one today, thought I was going to have to go out as run out of a few things but I did BigMumma's improvise trick and managed - and very tasty it was too:D:D.

I'm now on 19 - can't quite believe I've got this far in February - amazed actually. Tomorrow and Thursday will definitely not be NSDs but I'm hoping I can fit one more in before next Monday to get to my target - any more than that might be a bit optimistic but I'll see how it goes.

Well done everyone for keeping going through this grey dismal month and a big :A to BigMumma for running this thread.
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)
  • I've had another one today too! I don't think I will tomorrow, as I don't have much food in - although maybe I could work something out.

    I will see, I guess.
  • Nothing for me today...i'm determined to squeeze out at least 1 more NSD this month..

I've just found this and am going to join for March, though I did manage 2 this week and hopefully tomorrow will be a NSD too. I'm planning to start on Friday when I get paid, so will have nearly 5 weeks to go. I just have a couple of questions though:

Hiya Lizzy--you too Multiple--& Welcome :DThe March Challenge is open for business HERE if you'd like to keep track of us; we move every month before the neighbours can complain about the wild parties & raucous behaviour :rotfl:
Solvent in post 696 & Butti post 703 sez fings much moor betterer van wot I duzz--Thanx Guys :D but in a nutshell--it is entirely your choice what you do or do not include as a Spend. Some folk won't include grocery while others--like me--will count a stamp :o My advice is to have a good think about the things YOU want to include in YOUR Challenge, then try to stick to it. It's a kind of New Month Resolution in a way, cuz so many of us get hooked & try to do better next time.
I'm always on the cadge for ideas & have a list in the first post for sites that may be helpful, so please do post if you come across anything & I'll add it. Doesn't have to be on :money:but I don't really stray from here--it's like my Dictionary to Life this place cheeky-smiley-036.gif
Yesterday was NSD number 3 :o Not brilliant but better than none
That's the spirit GTS! Doesn't that sound more positive than the 'F' word :T & no Nana Fritterer award for you :p You've fair brought a tear to these tired old eyes & a lump in me froat Old Bean..*sobs emotionally into a bit of loo roll* glaubichnicht.gif

We shall have to write to our MPs & get those pesky cheesie puffs banned Thriftyfifty; they're causing no end of disruption to us lot on here & it is simply not good enough sad-smiley-053.gif..who do they think they are, laying there so tempti-fying & cheesey & soo soo crunchie-but-soft-in-your-mouth  I've been yearning for garibaldi biscuits & No2 got fed up of hearing me going on so bought some last night. I had a couple but, do you know, they didn't taste anything like my imagination said they would! So that's something else out of my system :j
I don't think it really matters that you don't have butter/spread in your sarnies Pammy; I usually go 'commando' with my bread anyway & just butter one side for the Offspring in case they look :p Another trick is to spread the pickle directly onto the nude bread, or use tommy k as a savoury addition to cheese, meat etc.

Have to agree with Kathy40 & Coffeholic, that this month has been a tough one, but I think mine has come from being too confident
:embarasse Stupid really, as I've too many experiences of Life throwing a spanner in the works but hey--it wouldn't be called a 'Challenge' if it was too easy now would it
