Oooh already lots of graduates and we are only halfway through the month! One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
I suddenly feel very nervous (actually I feel sick) about my appointment this afternoon. I am totally dreading having to get a smear test and Im worried that the blood tests will show something. Stupid I know! Just resigning myself to the fact that it will all be over in a few minutes!!
I agree with QQ, smears are quick and painless for me too. Most doctors/nurses treat us with respect and a delicate touch when carrying out procedures like these, and you'd be really unlucky to have an insensitive doctor that made it uncomfortable for you. Please don't worry and just think of what you're trying to achieve, it'll be fine.It doesn't hurt to be optimistic....you can always cry later.

Something for a laugh to raise PMA:

I've laughed out loud many a time over the smear test bit towards the bottom!
This one is postable:
Which reminds me of a woman’s visit for a smear test which I’m sure you’ve all heard about but it well worth a repeat:
“I was due later in the week for an appointment with the gynaecologist. Early one morning I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for early that morning at 9:30 a.m. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already round 8:45 a.m. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.
As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So I rushed upstairs, threw off my dressing gown, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in "that area" to make sure I was at least presentable.
I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment. I was in the waiting room only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?" but I didn't respond. When the appointment was over, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home.
The rest of the day was normal... some shopping, cleaning, cooking, etc. After school when my six-year-old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mum, where's my washcloth?" I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink. It has my glitter and sparkles in it.”Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -

Hi Dusty, perhaps the reason you didn't get this job is because there is a better one for you just around the corner...that's what happened to me...it was fate!
I hope its the same for you.
Hi Linz, try not to worry about your smear. It can hurt if you are tense but leave your dignity at the door and you will find it easier to relax - just remember to pick it up on the way out again! Remember millions of women go through it and the nurse or doctor will have done hundreds - they'll tell you what to do. I speak from experience...I'm a regular, every 6 months + repeats if the test hasn't worked
(...that doesnt happen anymore though)
