  • Well, I'm not a lady but my wife isn't signed up to here so I think I have to post on her behalf - isn't that was us guys do? :)

We got married at the end of March 2009, and patiently waited, knowing that she has PCOS and that it would take time. We took the approach that if it happens, it happens, and if it doesn't, it doesn't (give it 6 months and see). Well, it didn't.

So, we went to the GP, got a referral to a specialist and did all the tests. Yes, her PCOS was bad but there were bigger issues - my SA showed that there was (according to the doctors and our GP) 0% chance of my wife falling pregnant naturally, and that we would definitely need to go on IVF or IUI or something less natural. I said I'd give another SA to see if it was just a bad day, and that I'd do the second test after having male-friendly multivitamins to try to improve the situation.

Low and behold, before the end of the 6 weeks of having the vitamins, my wife tells me that her AF is late, really late, again. After the x-rays to detect PCOS, she's been all over the place and her cycle's been unpredictable, so I said wait and see. And when we got back from a week's holiday, she should do a HPT to see what it says. We got back on Saturday, and pretty much immediately she does one, and it's BFP! She refuses to believe it, I said she should get ready to call our GP first thing on Monday, and do another test before she calls. She did one on Sunday, one on Monday, both BFP, and she's still in denial.

If I'd have been aware of this post, I would've told her to sign up sooner, but hey. I guess we don't need to now, all we have to do is hope that tomorrow's scan shows that everything's ok, who knows with her, and then we'll take things from there...

In any event, it just shows that when you least expect it, nature's course can work wonders... And that nobody should give up, even if my wife did (she was resigned to having a dog instead!!!)
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...

    Congratulations:T

May I ask, how bad was her PCOS and your SA?
Perhaps you could PM me if you don't mind.
I have PCOS and DH has bad motility and morphology...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated:o

Teenie & Primmer - Hi cycle buddies ! I'm CD13 too and am on my 2nd peak day - a very early ov for me.

Penny - if you read this, I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope you can take strength from some of the others stories on the <12weeks thread...it can happen for you and it will - if that's what you decide you want. My thoughts are with you.

Up to you, I thought I would do as asked (I do every now and then lol!) by CBFM as read that first month it may ask for 20 so it gets to know you. I'll start when it says this cycle...but may give up if looks like I've OV'd or get the elusive peak.
