DH haven't used protection since we got married in August last year, but we have technically been ttc'ing since Oct 09. We're currently on our 8th cycle, with each cycle being an average of 27.14 days (4 x 27 days, and 1 x 28 days and 1 x 26 days) :)

Snap! I stopped taking the pill in August then started TTC in October. I have to admit we were a bit half hearted about it to start off with though. My cycles are a bit longer 29 ish days usually.

DH went to the Dr's the other day and we have a very friendly chatty Dr so the subject of TTC came up. He said that because I was 'only' 29 (nearly 30!) he wouldn't want to see me until we'd been trying for 18 months - I'm not sure I can last that long though! I'll give it until October I think.

    How do you determine ov?
Do you take temps/opks or check cm?

I don't QQuaver. I bought a load of fertility tests earlier in the year and used them for 3 weeks or so after I had a period. They showed nothing. Went to see doc a couple of weeks ago and he at first wanted to bring on a period to see if I ovulate in the first place but after consulting with a senior said there is no point as I obviously am not ovulating anyway. So they will prescribe clomid once they know that my tubes aren't blocked, or that I have no chlamydia and that I am immune to rubella. Although the junior doc said the senior who will be seeing me then, might just decide to give me chlomid there and then. I don't know whether I am just such a hopeless case or it's their experience speaking :rotfl:

Clomid sounds like good idea. Doesn't it kick start ov?

I take BBT temps every morning. So once the temp shoots up and stays there for 2 weeks, I'm supposed to be ovulating.
I also check cm (cervical mucus) visually. I always relied on that to predict AF, and it's been usually spot on for years.

    There's two problems there though.
I have miscarried in Aug, so something may be amiss, and also, my OH lives abroad, so we tend to miss each other when I'm ovulating:(

I am new at all things baby so thanks for that info. I am sure it's all been written here before but there are 200+ pages in this forum only.
All these little tricks probably will become useful once I'm on chlomid.

Blimey QQuaver, you are not making things easy for yourself are you? How often do you get to see your OH?

Did it give you high then from the very 1st poas?? That must be quite unusual, you'd think it'd need to work out what your baseline hormone levels are first.
    Yep, think its broke?!

GFH, just give the CBFM a little more time. In the three cycles I've been using it, two cycles gave me highs from day 6 (ie first day of POAS). In one of them I got highs for 20 days and no peak (no idea what that was) and this month I had highs from day 6-8 and then peaks 9 & 10.

Just because the machine doesn't tell you what you expected doesn't mean it's wrong.

    Morning All!

Well I tested this morning and.. BFN for me! But its ok, I really wasn't expecting to see any different, as we weren't actively trying!

Awww, Curly, that's a shame, but as long as you're not too disappointed, just wait for the hag to show, and you're all set for next month to try for real. :)
