    Good morning all,

I would love to retrain in either social work or midwifery too, but not too sure how to go about it. I already have a degree but it's business related. What are generally the next steps? Confused smiley!

    /QUOTE]

Sammy I got some information from this site- think the D of Health ran a campaign on tv to recruit more SW's http://www.socialworkcareers.co.uk

Maybe give them a call to see where your existing degree puts you?

morning all, CD 22 for me and waiting to POAS next weekend. packed off OH yesterday morning for another business trip, he's in Cologne this time with my dad (his boss) and my stepmum, until v late on Wed. its absolutely freezing there apparently and there is a tonne of snow.
going to take the dog out for a nice walk to day then spend the rest of the day cooking, making soup, chilli, and mousakka to freeze down for dinners next week.
must get out of my PJ's I suppose and get on just wanted to pop in and say Hi, haven't been on the forums for a while.

big big hugs to all of those going through a hard time at the moment and congrats to all of the BFP's

hope everyone has a lovely day xx

Nunny yes its an access course but in psychology Im really looking forward to it but scared at the same time as I havent done any studying in years! I ideally want to do social work at the end of it but would also consider counselling or midwifery (actually would love to do midwifery but its so hard to get on a course up here- one of the other girls that came to the recruitment night was basically told by the tutor that she didn't have a "hope in hell" of getting onto the midwifery course and she had been working in the NHS for years!)...been told to start doing some voluntary work too to put on my Uni application when I eventually apply as it shows you are serious so am going to try and ring some places on Monday it will keep me busy while DD is at nursery in the mornings.

I've just started some volunteering work at the local hospital....it's fun:T

Midwifery courses down here, I think there are 20/30 places at one of the local universities and 200/300 people apply for them:eek:

I'm hopefully going to be doing a degree in Children and Young Person nursing, then going into neonatal:T

  • Morning guys. Tested again with FMU and got a TLP!! :j Very very faint line but darker than last nights. Think I'm 13dpo.

OH is on a stag in Krakow so I can't share this with anyone in RL.

    I'm scared now.

Yay :j Fingers crossed it will soon turn into a BFP and a healthy 8 months :j:j

Not alot going on with me. Back in work and bored  (but I do have a few things I can get on with :shhh: )

Sticky baby dust to all xxxxxx
  • Thanks girls. Do you mind if I stick around til I get a BFP? I'm terrified AF is going to show and I'm going to feel so foolish.

Also not looking forward to telling OH. Don't want to do it over the phone or even in peson until/unless I get a BFP in case it doesn't come to anything.

Coming out of lurkdom to join if I may? Kinda scary posting for the first time!

Perdi(31) TTC #1 since 01/2010 (Have IBS and reactive hypoglycaemia).

I've been on the pill before now and was hoping to avoid my first proper cycle in ten years  but it didn't happen, nevermind. I think OH is kinda pleased though as he's 'got an app for that' and is charting my cycles. :rotfl:

I finally joined as I want people to get excited with over TTC! I have to keep biting my tongue at work (obviously), my BF and wife are already 5 months along, and my other online friends are dealing with infertility/illness/bereavement so I'd feel like I was touching too many raw nerves talking about it with them.:(

So I thought I'd join you all (though not for too long hopefully!)
  • Hey Perdi. Welcome to the madhouse.

Hope you're not here for too long.
  • Af is definately playing games with me :|
still no AF and i poas (a clear blue digital one - im a geek and well its a gadget i guess) with my fmu and got a not pregnant result :|
so where the heck is af :(
having a little rant cause I dont get how i can go from being cd27/28 every month since i was 13 (bar the cd 36 once last October) to going to cd40 and counting this month feel like my body is playing games with me and i didnt get a copy of the rules so i cant play it at its own game :(
Could you be my sunshine on a cloudy day?
Could you be my yellow when im feeling grey?
