Sorry about your ruined trip Gizmodo, at least you aren't stuck overseas paying out for expensive hotel rooms. Cos this is an 'act of god' many people are going to be out-of-pocket on this one, as I can't see many insurance companies paying up.

I hope the sun is shining on you and at least you can enjoy a sunny weekend here.

Sorry about our holiday Giz - my friend is in the same position and she lives in Tenerife, Sge was due 2 fly back to Tenerife on thursday, cancelled until today, now monday but that is looking unlikely. Worst is that her grandad who lived in tenerife died yesterday morning and all but 1 of his family are stuck in the UK on holiday and cannot get back to sort the funeral and his bar

Hope you manage 2 get it sorted, we want to go to the funeral also but not even gonna think about it until flights are up and running again

@BigSis - thanks. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. There are some people in a terrible pickle because of this. I feel lucky for my situation being only what it is, but it does get you down.

We have a plan now...

We got flights for Wednesday for 7 days. So we go back to work Monday and Tuesday (lucky to both have understanding bosses) and our holiday starts from Wednesday. We'll pack 2 sets of bags...one for Tenerife and one for camping! If we fly it's a bonus. If not, we're off to Stoke on Trent to camp, visit alton towers, go see warwick castle (on our way back down south). Then we'll probably spend a couple of nights camping on the south coast somewhere.

The place we're staying at has offered us to stay the extra days for free! And our parking has said if we don't go at all they'll refund all the money (£48).

I feel very fortunate. But it has been quite stressful sorting it all out. I spose if we go there will be a risk too that we'll have problems getting back.

Am really glad you've managed to get something sorted out Giz - at least you have a back up plan if you can't fly on Wednesday (which obviously I hope you can).

Same thing has happened to some friends of mine who were meant to be flying for a villa holiday. They were flying with Ryanair who have cancelled all flights till Monday and they aren't being very helpful at all - it's looking very much like they have lost all their money

9dpo and have been feeling a bit off today, had what I think is a touch of PMS so am not holding out much hope for this month really. Saying that have also been feeling rather tired but did have a very busy day yesterday so it could be because of that.

Giz - Sorry about your holiday plans Fingers crossed you get to fly out on Wednesday. My neighbour's stuck in Spain and no idea when she'll be able to get home. She can't even hire a car to drive to Calais (not that there will be any space on the ferry mind!). It's a horrible situation - no one's to blame - but it does suck!

FairyShazza - Ooooh, snap! I'm 9DPO today as well, and have also been feeling a bit "off". Can't really describe it. Got a bit tearful watching the dancing dog on BGT, so I think that's a definite PMS sympton lol. Only less than a week to find out.

Q - I like the sound of that vit for men. Might have to see if I can slip some into DH's dinner
