Trying for a Baby part 5....

Yes, but if by then the house prices have gone up by the same amount as your deposit, then you possibly won't be much better off.
We are saving hard this year too (see signature!), trying to pay off as much of the mortgage as we can before ('when!' indeed!) an expensive baby appears.
Thanks for that. I get so stressed when i start to think about mortages! Our problem as well is i am on a low income and only work term time(need to find a job for the summer!!) so the more money we have saved up the better. We went to see a mortage advisor recently we at the moment she said we cant borrow much, but we got more of a deposit since we last saw here
Yeah hows that going trying to be'mortage free'?0 -
Fuzz thanks very much:DYou seem to think off every possible angle! i know OH wants to wait a bit, which i do think at the moment is best.
:rotfl:woo getting rid of OH, so a night in with us girls!!0 -
What can I say?? I'm amazing:p:rotfl: Only kidding...I have to think of all angles tbh coz when I put an idea to DH i usually need a multitude of answers for all the possible reasons he can think of to get out of doing anything:rotfl::rotfl:Fuzz thanks very much:DYou seem to think off every possible angle! i know OH wants to wait a bit, which i do think at the moment is best.

Mortgages are a big stress - not ideal when you are ttc or pg. I'm really not an expert, but don't just think the bigger deposit is always the answer, if you miss out on a bargain home now, that becomes several thousand pounds more expensive by the time you come to buy, then you may have prolonged things for no financial gain. It's a headache just weighing it all up, hey! Thanks for that. I get so stressed when i start to think about mortages! Our problem as well is i am on a low income and only work term time(need to find a job for the summer!!) so the more money we have saved up the better. If we carry on as we are, we should be mortgage-free at this property by 2014. However, I haven't factored babies into that, and hopefully they'll be along before 2014. If we do have more than one before then (I'd love three!), we can't stay here, as it is too small, so then we'd have to move somewhere bigger/more expensive, and then I'll have to recalculate the mortgage-free dream - but I definitely want it to happen! But we are saving hard, not spending on frivolous stuff, and that's all we can do. Oh, and I am doing the Lottery! Euro Rollover on Friday!:starmod:I'm a SAHM to a smiley snuggly adventurous cheeky bundle of b:male:y b.Oct10. :j
We're a vegan family. We do cloth nappies/wipes, dabble with ECing, use toiletries without parabens/SLS etc, co-sleep, baby-wear, BF, BLW, eco-ball laundry, and we plan to home educate (ideally not at home too much - we want to travel the globe).:starmod:0 -
Thank fuzz and abfab. so much to think about when it comes to mortages.I think OH wants to wait just a little bit more and he didnt really seem to keen on the house i showed him!!0

Me thinks you deserve a nice big glass of wine and to stick your feet up:)
Laura men tend not to look at houses the way women do..Dh saw this one found out how many beds and how big his garden would be and that was pretty much it! Whereas I saw it, saw the potential and fell in love...plus its double fronted...for me anything double fronted/georgian is worth a look:D:D
The older mum thing is good:):) I'm watching it as we 'speak'

I don't have any wine. It's a crumpet and a cuppa tea and then bed! I'm just hoping for a peak soon. CM suggests I will have my peak in the next day or two!!
