I'm finding it hard to explain tbh and websites are not helping me but basically the lower the ml/U(ml of urine, I think!?) then the more sensitive the test is as it can detect a lower amount of hCG therefore a test thats 15ml/u will detect a pregnancy earlier than a test that is around 50ml/u that is why I'd say only test when you're late as some are so sensitive they can pick up chemical pregnancies:(
IC tests tend to be more sensitive I think as they're usually from hospitals and science labs:) Where did you get your dippy sticks from? If they came with instructions might be worth having a look for the ml/u on them:) x

  • I am oh so confused so I hope somebody can help me!

I have been TTC for a few months now, I have very irregular periods (last one was in November) only 2-3 a year. I had a hospital appointment today to discuss any potential problems and as soon as I arrived at the hospital AF arrived!

So I told the consultant and he took blood tests and arranged for a scan for PCOS and gave me 2 months of clomid to see if will make me ovulate regularly. He said because period has come today it is perfect timing as I can start clomid tomorrow.

I started bleeding at 8.30am just before I saw the consultant, and it's been a few hours and there's only a few brownish spots - I normally come on quite heavy. It is unlikely that I am pregnant but I am stressing that it may be implantation bleeding?

I last had unprotected sex 10 days ago (busy week!) and took a test at the weekend which was negative (probs too soon anyway) but no idea where I am in my crazy cycle. I am worried about starting clomid incase I am pregnant, but if I don't start tomorrow then who knows when next period may be!

Arghh so confused and don't know what to do! :(

If you're unsure then DON'T take the clomid...wait til next AF(not what u want but best to make sure), have you tried phoning the doctors to explain?? They may get you in for a blood test asap to check if you have any hCG in your blood.
Also do another test tomorrow with fmu possibly on a more sensitive test, other than that I honestly don't know what you can do. x

Well, I've been reading back a bit and I've come to the conclusion that I've got no chance of catching up with all thats been going on!! I just wanted to pass on Massive Congratulations to Fuzz and Legs! Fabulous news!! :j:T:j:T:j

I am so pleased for you both (ooo er that makes you sound like a couple!) and you OH's (phew!).

Congrats to BB, OM and any other BFP's I might have missed too! :D:D:D

...and welcome to the newbies :hello:

I've been quiet recently because work has been manic and because my TTC desperation levels were rocketting alarmingly! I turned into a moody mare but hopefully back on track now. CD5 for me and PMA growing by the day with my hopes of a 2010 baby still alive (for one more cycle). I might still be a bit quiet because I'm planning on one long marathon BD'ing session this month! I should have taken the month off work ;)

    TTFN x
