I'm having MAJOR issues with mine at the minute...it's making me really
I need to book an appointment at the docs I think, but when I went the other day I was having a good day. I was given antibiotics for my chest infection etc, but she said I wasn't wheezing or anything.
Do you do anything to manage yours or is it just mild and manages itself?
Sorry you're poorly
I do find if I have a cold/chest infection, then the asthma definitely flares up. I always have 2 huffer puffers (inhalors) at home. A brown one and blue one. I am supposed to use one every day - I don't as I don't need to. But if I start to get wheezy I just take a few puffs on the blue one.
How do you manage yours?0 -
I was on the same as you but I stopped taking the brown one (I did check with the nurse) because despite using a spacer I kept getting oral thrush and having really bad sore throats.
However, I've been off LOADS over the last 6 months all with respiratory related illnesses (and swine flu)...so I better go back and get checked I guess. I hate it though, it feels like admitting defeat. I've been managing with breathing exercises and my blue one for quite a while now. But I really can't afford any more days off work. Now it's just a question of whether I try and see the doctor or the nurse. Hmm...
Damn it....I'm due a smear test as well! Bum!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Does your surgery run Asthma Clinics? I get summoned once a year to check my asthma and the meds etc. In fact ive just got my 3rd reminder for this year so should book an appt!
I generally see the nurse as she can do the prescriptions. Maybe you could have your smear at the same time? Its good to discuss the inhalors with your nurse. Can you maybe have a lower dose?
Hope you feel better soon. I know, theres nothing worse than being wheezy and it not go away0 -
Well I think I'm going to see the doctor because a thought has just occurred to me. I wonder if our building has anything to do with it. It's a new design, new build thats cack. It's either "boiling" or "freezing" and the radiators blast out cold air into your face. It's a stupid design as well that keeps it nice and damp and drafty!
I've never been so ill in all my life until I started there. I'm not under anymore or less stress than in the past really, so I can't understand what's going on. However, I know loads of staff have been ill and have commented that they've never been off so much in their entire careers as they have in the year and a half we've been in that building!!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

It's most likely that. My asthma was at its most worst when we rented a place about 4 years ago that was damp. I was using my inhalor on a daily basis.0 -
Last year when we were in a flat we had problems with damp/mould i kept getting a bad cough/chest at night, so went to the doctors and he gave me an inhalor, it was a brown one. i had mild ashma when i was about 50

Just popping in to be nosy. Do they clean the keyboards/do they share computers? Its such a breeding ground for microbes...Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
My problem is I'm a teacher so I can't do too much about the building if that's what it is. Although, we do have our own individual laptops - so no computer sharing. I've worked in a secondary school for two years prior to working in this building and not been ill beyond a slight cold. So I'm thinking it could well be.
Hmmmm....I'm a bit worried if it is though....what do I do?? I can't just not work in a bid to not get ill.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
