Hi All
Just been out to collect the poo from the garden and there is one which has bright red blood a fair bit :eek:and slime :eek:and yellowish soft poo.
i collected poo at around 4pm and that was normal.
Should i call vet now or wait till the morning
Lex had his dinner and seems fine and normal.
Thanks for your help

Does your vet have an emergency service? If you can contact them by phone then the vet would probably be able to advise you on the urgency of the situation, but I wouldn't delay in contacting a professional. Better safe than sorry after all!0

Hi
Definitely ring the vets. My George had blood in his poo years ago and it turned out to be colitis. Good luck and I hope he's okDebt @ LBM - £25,722 Debt now - £11,811 DFD - April 2012

Is it definitely your cat's poo, do other cats use your garden as well? Do you have a litter tray you could put down for tonight & lock the cat flap so that he has to use that just so you can be sure?
Obviously blood in the poo is not healthy so needs to be discussed with a vet but just make sure that it is your cat before you panic!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -

When we got our most recent rescue dog, the first day he had some blood and slimey yellow poo. Took him to vet but it was just an upset stomach from the change in food. Has your boy had anything different to eat today?
So dont panic, but do check it with the vet. Does your insurance have a help line?0 -
If the blood is bright red then it's come from near the end of the colon. If it's dark red/brown then that can be more serious as it's from deeper inside the bowel.
I wouldn't panic and, as hethmar said, check with the vet.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked

Hes only had his normal food today but he did have a rawhide chew yesterday.
I have collected the poo and the vet said bring him in the morning as he is eatting and acting normal it maybe the chew has cut his bowel a little.:jBaby Finley :j

Yes, its quite possible he has gulped down a piece of rawhide that has scratched as it has passed through the other end. Badger once had similar after swallowing a lump of paddywhack - she was fine the next day!0
