According to the dreadful adverts, it has " kinetic design " it is supposed to look like it is moving when it isn't !!!!!!.:(

I was reading in Jeremy Clarkson's book of his Sunday Times articles (thanks Santa!) a column about the life of a newspaper car reporter. He basically said that they're not that well paid but for car unveilings and test drives etc they often get flown first class and put up in 5* hotels all expenses paid. They then get goody bags worth £1000s before they are flown home to write their articles.

These sorts of things are the main benefits to their job so none of them in their right mind would risk upsetting the car manufacturers or they won't get invited on the next one. So basically they write whatever they are told to!

Everyone agrees the new fiesta drives better than the new polo. So either ford has a collosal budget to pay off pretty much every motoring journo in the world OR it is actually a really good car.

    I suspect the latter. ;)

Since the only cars I've owned are a 2004 Fiesta and a 2008 (current shape) Fiesta. I can't really compare it to others!

I agree about the Fiesta becoming expensive for what it is, it will be interesting to see if its a big seller over the next few years.

" expensive " it is grossly over-priced IMO.;)

The only real selling point for Fords in the past was, they were cheap, them days have now gone.

I would be surprised if that was the exact wording.

Probably 'not as fun to drive as the fiesta'

And by that they mean the fiesta handles better and gives an overall better driving experience.

I guess drive both to see what they mean.

Yeah sorry, my mistake. I meant to say 'not as fun as the fiesta'.

I went to look/test drive a fiesta today. I had a look at one of econetic models, so obviously not one of the real nippy ones. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with it. My problem though is that it's so damn ugly inside. Just real cheap placticy looking. The radio and the huge buttons make it look a bit like a Nokia phone or kids toy.

The O/P was describing reviews he had 'read', not on TV
Once (and only once) foolishly watched a 5th gear program
I was refering to that, and it's the same for the magazines.
    Happy chappy
