Westmoreland services.
One mile North of Junction 38Neil0 -
South bound there is also Killington Lake services. As the name suggests there is a nice lake to sit out around if the weather is good. A while since I stopped there so I can't remember who runs them but they were OK. Not as good as the Northbound ones at Tebay though.0

I stopped southbound last year on my way back from Scotland. See the official website HERE - it mentions services both north and southbound.Neil_Taylor wrote:Unfortunately the Westmoreland services on the motorway at Tebay is Northbound only, and its'a long detour to turn around.
It is however constantly prizewinning.
You can even pic-nic aropund the duck pond.
Most of the food is locally sourced and prepared.
No business connection, just a happy customer.
I agree it is really nice and nothing like a usual motorway services. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -
Ah, sorry. Didn't realise that Killington was also Westmoreland Services.
I'd also forgotten that it was also great.Neil0 -
Another vote for Tebay here, it's lovely! Not too far past Penrith, although I only use it northbound.0

Bit of a pain as we are getting off at J38, think it would be to much out of our way to carry on.... can you get back on yourself to J38 from the services as looking at the map it is only about 1 mile.0

Tebay is on the motorway near J38, they also have a truck stop called J38 at J38.
I would recommend the Plough at Lupton on the A65, J36 or the Crooklands Hotel again left of at 36 and next left and it’s about a mile on your right.
I would also recommend the Tebay service, or you can come off at J38 and there are a couple of nice pubs in Tebay village, though I’ve never eaten at either. The other would be the George at Orton, very good last time I ate their.
https://www.westmorland.com Is the home page for the services.

There is an access road between the north & southbound services at Tebay - it's supposedly for use only by staff & service vehicles but others uses it all the time.0
