Oddly the more children you breastfeed and the longer you feed them the less likely you are to leak so profusely with the next one.. by the time I got to number 8 my boobs knew what they were doing and that they were supplying a baby human not an elephant!
I have only had 2 but definitely found this to be true. With my first, I was spending more on breast pads than I was on nappies. With my second, I hardly had to use them once my supply settled. Definitely found tommee tippee to be the best though.Auguast GC: £2000 -
I can only use Avent washable ones later on in day after DD has had good feed and even then can sometimes leak. I think Boots washable ones are better. Wouldn't trust either for no leakages when out (am slightly paranoid though!) so wear TT disposables under to be on safe side!Making small changes everyday....0

I have breastfed my 2 children and found for the first month or so I appreciated the expensive breastpads (Boots luxury I think) as they were kinder to my slightly tender nipples and also veyr absorbant. After this I moved on to washables as your body adjusts to the baby's routine you will tend to leak less in between. I also had breat shells and used to put one in the "other side" when I was feeding from my first boob and then switch over. This is a god way of collecting some extra milk (perhaps 2-4 oz!) for freezing without having the bother of expressing, sterilising etc... SOmetimes I think I just like BF because I am lazy hee heeMe debt free thanks to MSE :T0

A small tip... When you feel your let down and start to leak, press the heel of your hand against your nipple and it will help to stem the flow...
I used Johnsons disposables and boots washables... The washables were better once the really bad leaking had stopped, but not completely reliable... That's why I now live in highly patterned tops
Oh, and a friend of mine always carries spare flannels, when she's feeding her baby she pops a folded up flannel against the other side...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I was also very leaky with DD and will soon be needing to breastfeed my next one. I found that I could only use TT, lansinoh or the like with the absorbant core, didn't get to the stage where I could ever use my washable ones, tried 3 diff types and all were next to useless for the amount I leaked. I BF until DD was 19 months when she weaned herself, and found that it was only once she was down to 2 feeds a day (11 months) that I stopped leaking.
What I found good, was whilst actually feeding having a milk collection shell on the other breast. Meant I wasn't wasting the milk, you just collect a days worth and then freeze it.
I am only 20 weeks and I'm going to buy good breastpads each week with my shopping so I have a good supply, the amount you save on not formula feeding negates the cost IMO.0
