If you are changing providers and using your ordinary telephone line you request a MAC from BT and then give that number to your new ISP when you apply for your connection.
If you are cancelling broadband totally then you will probably have to pay for dis-connection ?£25?. You should have a help line number with the details of your broadband account, or have a look at their website.0
