On the surface it seems perfectly OK for the price, IMO. What are your needs...and what's the make of the laptop;)

    I keep a low profile.

It's a Dell Inspiron 15. No bluetooth and no webcam. It's just for basic use really, a few spreadsheets, email and a bit of web-surfin'. Just a bit worried that the CPU is a bit of a guffer although don't know how to find out.

    And thanks for the welcome!!!

I recently purchased this spec in December and it is excellent for the price, Will do everything you require with ease.

The Celeron budget processors had a reputation for poor/sluggish performance in the past and I would have never recommended them in a blue moon, however the newer Dual Core Celeron processors are very good, which this has got.

Make sure you upgrade the battery to the 6 cell, which is only about a fiver more, as the 4 cell is not really adequate.
  • Where are you buying it from?

Well, VfM is always difficult to quantify; for your needs the laptop will suffice (more than). Is that price inclusive of VAT....
