  • well done you are off and running, now you need to look at the total coming down steadily, something I bet never happened before? Take a look on NATAZ's thread for new DMPers starting on 1st Feb, we're all in the same boat and keeping progress checked with each other, its very helpful.

Next responded to me very quickly and they accepted.

Halifax were a nightmare for 10 months and finally passed my debt to Blair, Oliver scott their inhouse collections who did accept but only after maximum harrassment from Halifax. I only owed them a few hundred quid, anybody would think I owed them millions the amount of harrassment I got. Must have cost them more in phone calls than the money I owed them!
Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
  • Good luck with your DMP. I'm on one with CCCS and have 3 of your creditors - Halifax, Cahoot and Next. They all accepted and I never hear from them now apart from Halifax statements.

Just to help you I would suggest changing all your DDs - council tax, tv licence etc to the one day just so you know where you are. I have mortgage, CCCS, virgin media, council tax etc etc all going out on the 1st then I know what is left is ours.

Good luck, you are doing great so far.
  • It seems that everyone gets treated differently!

I have had my first failed payment today, Cahoot took a direct debit from my former current account to pay their flexible loan.

Quite comical actually, exceeding my overdraft they have leant to pay their own loan.

At this rate, if they take it every month, and only charge me £30 fee, i will actually pay the loan off more quickly for cheaper than my DMP :p:p

  • Checking my online accounts shows :

Halifax as 'account in arrears' and a payment date of 1st March 2010, which was on my letter and token as DMP payment date - the original payment would have been due around 25th February i would have thought, i hope this means they have accepted my DMP?

Virgin shows overdue as £0, but payment due 11/02/10, they have received the letter.
