On a seperate related issue my wife currently works 16 hours per week over 2 days. Does she still get the £123 SMP or is this reduced in line with her hours??
Thanking you in advance!0 -
you could be entitled to workign tax credit once you go onto smp. My local office couldnt do it on their system but when I contacted hm revenue and customs they sorted it for me no bother!! You will still be employed full time but your 'wages' will be quite low due to the smp.
I'm not sure how your previous earnings will affect you though......Emma
Aug GC - £88.17/£130
NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!0 -

If you qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) it is paid for a maximum period of 39 weeks. It is paid:- for the first six weeks at 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings with no upper limit
- for the remaining 33 weeks at the lower of either the standard rate of £123.06, or 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings
