This was mentioned last week on radio 4 a lot of people have problems with badly fitted external pipe with condensing boilers not draining away properly and freezing

just goes back to the point i made before about most of the plumbers i have come across are not very good at installing boilers ..

    key faults ..

    condensate pipe not installed correctly
system not flushed or not flushed correctly
blow off pipe not installed or not installed correctly
    undersized gas

    there is many more ...

more than half the boilers i have been to have one or more installation faults

  • it could be a number of things and to make sure i was correct i would need to sit in front of boiler with multi meter and check things over ..

but it sounds like it could be faulty ch/dhw temperature probe or diverter value

    Okay thanks

BIL is a plumber/heat engineer but he said he cant come and fix it as his certificate ran out and made redundant in October got a new job as a plumber but still says he cant come and fix it

His mate a plumber said he can do it but waited 6 weeks now and still hasnt even come round despite saying he ordered apart based on what we told him. He aint very good businessman as I got told he still hasnt sent bills out to some customers that work got done 6 months ago. MIL had him around and that was 4 months back for a job and also not got billed

I dont mind paying as long as I dont get ripped off. I am going to have to get someone soon, as we cant bath and have to use shower all time
