Just means my copy of MW2 has cost me £38, so I suppose I wasn't meant to save money on it lol.

No, no, it has still cost YOU only £26, it has now cost YOUR SON £12

Due to "copy protection" on DVD, I think publishers should provide free replacements due to accidents with THEIR property, you only hold a licence to use the game.

Joking aside, kid MUST learn to look after things. It costs money to replace something broken (or wasted), and we have to go to work to earn that money. The sooner our kids learn that the better.

Very true ... maybe we should push more on this point - if they make such a big deal about not copying (for backup) they should take responsibility for a media that is inherrently delicate / flawed and hence not fit for purpose (ie constant handling and use)

But the DVD is your property; it's what's stored on it that is not.
  • bet there is some small print that says to destroy the DVD when finished and not to sell / loan or give-away, but to return to publisher.

Just to let you know that my £12 replacement copy of COD MW2 arrived today. That's pretty good service from Activision.
