T Mobile have admitted I've been paying £1500 a year more than I should - FOR 5 YEARS

I finally got around to asking about the cost of my phone bill when I was informed that my call plan had been discontinued 4 – 5 years ago. When I asked why I hadn’t been told I was informed it’s not T Mobile policy to contact their clients! Okay I just about could live with that I suppose. Then I was told that if only I’d upgraded my phone in March this year – I would have been offered a better plan then! Hang on – I’vve had 4 upgrades in that time -0 why have I never been offered a better plan before – or more importantly told that my existing plan had been discontinued???

Sorry to sound like a prat but does anyone know the legal situation here? Apparently I was out of contract in March this year – but if I want a better tariff I sign up again for another 12 months [what? To reward them for ripping me off and withholding info?]]

Am I being a prat or has anyone else experienced this and how did you fdeal with it?

I’m waiting for a supervisor to call me back after 9!!!

    dont shoot me -
but i dont understand the problem?
its an old priceplan doesnt mean people cant still have it sometime usually its the better, t-mobile should have suggested a better plan when you upgraded? it dont see it as such an obligation maybe im just used to always asking and trying to figure out the best deal when i upgrade,
why should they tell you the plans being discontinued i really dont understand that your still getting it its what you signed up for. the problem usually occurs when they make people change to different priceplans
'if i want a better tarriff i sign up again for another 12months - they always give deals when you upgrade but you should just be able to just change the priceplan to one of the core priceplans

it does seem a bit of an odd thing, not informing their client the deal had ended, especially when renewing it, the only thing i can say is that if they have admitted you've been paying to much, get it in writing!

then you will have a lot more clout if it does come to legal ness :-/

    good luck

cheers - well it turns out 12 mionth contract wasa lie - no they won't put anything in writing - but I intend to escalate the issue! New tarrif [no contract] will save £170 per month!

Yeah - not someone who challenges every bill - Christ - I suppose that's what the worlds like now! I've trusted them for 5 years - what a fool!

errrr, they kept on phoning me last year and i'm on PAYG with a crappy nokia phone which is unlikely to do wap let alone all the internet and email stuff they were going on about.

They'd go, hello is this XYZ and I'd go Who are you? You can imagine the rest of the conversation for yourself.

But they do call. Couldn't understand what on earth they were saying so either an Indian call centre or someone calling from the Welsh Pot Noodle mines.

Is this for a business service or personal mobile?
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
