    Get a copy of the key from another student, they are all the same.

    It might be easier trying to find the product key than the class of students from 2007/8:D

    Currently the replaced hard drive is sitting in a box on the table. I will take it to my computer geek friend and see if he can recover it, if not it will be trace a student time.....

    If the old hard disk still works, you should be able to put it in an external enclosure, connect it up as a secondary drive and i'd imagine get the product key off it:)

    If it doesn't work/has a serious problem you probably won't be able to.
